Or if you want a BIG argument point: Tim Burton. The base is so broken about him, it's not even funny. He did screw up Batman storywise pretty bad though and let's not even SPEAK of Superman Lives.



What Yoshida does with 5D's, I'm ok with, but it seems like a case of "TOO MANY CHEFS." I will judge ZEXAL accordingly, but I'm honestly not liking how it's starting. From cutting a popular show short (even if there's not many places a plot this deep can go from here, but we could have had more backstory and giving time to Aki and the Twins), to the look of ZEXAL, to the setting, to the whole REASON they are even making the show.



So much of it is very childish, hackney and kneejerk. How long could they really have been working on this beforehand to have it ready by April?

Come to think of it, I remember you mentioning that over at Janime before. Forgot about that. Thing is, though, DOMA was pretty good (although, for me, only watching the dub version of it probably isn't the best idea for this argument), and what he's done & been doing for 5D's has arguably put it on the top, so why must they continue the hate? Oh yeah, IT'S JANIME.

You've summed it up perfectly. I understand 5D's honestly can't be topped at this point, and I understand Vanguard has some serious threat potential behind it, but more planning WOULD be nice. Problem is, though, would more planning even be possible?

Well to be fair, it isn't so much of Janime as a whole, as 3-5 really loud whiners who the staff won't ban and know how far to push the envelope before being punishment / ban-worthy.

Most of these zealots outright despise DOMA for basically the Orichalcos being stronger than the Millennium Items, when the original comic books made the Items the ur super power items in the show.

The other despising point is they HATE HATE HATE the monsters existing in another world (a constant used point in DOMA, GX, and 5D's) as it's a cliche other "lesser" Card Anime use as a plot excuse. That and YGO set itself up that the monsters are Ka from the human mind, and Key Mace living happily in his fine Italian Villa angers them immensely

I've explained the "Too many chefs" issue to Janime that it also has different corporate interests at play, producers, and executives demanding changes or making things more kid safe or do it this way or that way, and they won't listen. Basically that if Yoshida or his team was any good, they could crawl around the issues and make the epiciest purest true to the original series anime EVAH!

And to note, these guys like the R, GX, and 5D's mangas. For not tainting the franchise with shitty unclean monster worlds.

I think you're seeing the problems i have to deal with at the forum regularly.

- Basically Vanguard's anime is funded by the biggest advertising agency in Japan, Dentsu. (YGO is funded by ADK, the 3rd largest).

- It has a Rock Star/TV Celeb named DAIGO backing its TV Commerical Spots as the spokesman.

- The show is animated by TMS Entertainment, a quality animation studio for more standard fair shows (They're not as good as say... Gonzo or BONES or Gainax, but they're still pretty good all things considered.)

- It has a Social Netowrk Game in development

- It has an entire tournament schedule planned from February to Winter 2011.

- They've gotten the following artists for Card Art
Takei Hiroyuki - (Known Work: -JUMBOR-, Shaman King)
Mori Chack - (Known Work: Gloomy the Bear)
Muraeda Kenichi - (Known Work: Kamen Rider Spirits, Ore-tachi no Field)
Matsui Katsunoriha - (Known Work: Sommelier)
Kubonouchi Eisaku - (Known Work: Tsurumoku Dokushinryou)
Tony Takezaki - (Known Work: Tony Takezaki no Gundam Manga)
KEI - (Known Work: The Character Design of Vocaloid2's "Hatsune Miku")
An'nin Doufu - (Known Work: Illustrations for THE IDOLM@STER)

- They have 2 Radio Programs planned for the franchise, sort of like its own personal Pokemon Sunday.

Basically it has a lot of money backing it and more general freedom that YGO just... doesn't have.

I think this basically sums up why LeArk is the biggest man on the forum. I know I couldn't stand putting up with all that stuff.

To be entirely fair, these guys only come out every once in a while, but when they decide to take a topic, it gets kind of ugly.

Also, supposedly Astral doesn't have memories of who he is, and the major plot circles around him trying to remember his own identity. He's also a duel genius, quite possibly in an Atem/Hikaru no Go manner, instructing Yuuma, who can't duel to save his life.

And supposedly one of the villains looks like Astral.

Also, Astral and Yuuma tend to argue all the time due to their polar opposite personalities.

Also, Ryouga is supposedly confirmed to use his Shark themed deck in the anime. And Kotori, Tetsuo, and Yuuma's older sister Akari will show up in the anime.

Not to mention, how many repeated tropes from DM and GX are we recycling already? It's pretty clear now that Astral is both Atem and Yubel in one (Yusei of course lacking such a thing and did all his own work... minus Messiah Dragon Saviour Dragon).

Also, there's unconfirmed reports stating Takeuchi Junko, the VA of Naruto and Mokuba, will be Yuuma's VA.
