More Geek than gamer with this:

South Park Does Not Amuse Muslims:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwekBIGrIaw

For those who didn't see South Park last week or the episode from it (because you suck or something), it was the 200th episode of South Park (it's actually been on since I was in high school... back in 1997) and... let's just say The Prophet is back.

So of course, since they are going to be pissed anyway, they might as well show him... again. You know, like they have before when no one cared and he was being shown as a hero anyway. I've been a fan since the beginning, but if they do this, they are my heroes for all time (no matter who they make fun of in the future) and I'll even retroactively forgive anyone they made fun of from the past (not that it stopped me from laughing even then).

Nintendo: Video Games Get The Most Hate (in Japan)

http://kotaku.com/5585887/video-games-get-the-most-hate

See this is why I still side with Nintendo. These are issues the other two companies don't even touch on because they are NOT video games. They are huge corporations with a hand IN video games. They think more about selling games and ways to get those games sold faster than reasons WHY people play or how people think about games. They just want to get what they can out of it and if it dies, it's no big deal on them. Nintendo and developers actually has an investment on if video games live or die.

The Wii and DS were honestly important steps in being SOCIALLY accepted, because the less like "outcasts" we look, the harder it is to hurt us or lie about us or use us as scapegoats for political gain.

The more visible and accepted and outspoken we are without sticking our feet in our mouths too often, the harder it is to hurt us. No different from the other social "issues" of our day.

Really no different from being a woman, or black, or gay, or an atheist, though ironically being a gamer is the one thing that encompasses all those people without prejudice... give or take those prejudices that come from those who bring them from the "outside."

Hell, I have bad time management with OR without video games, so I can safely say that individual people are the issue, not video games; but a lot of people don't seem to understand this for one reason or another.

Regardless, the fact that Nintendo cares that much about their consumers just shows you why they're still on the top of the gaming food chain.

I meant to post this a while ago.

My fellow Americans here, you've probably seen these stupid commercials for the Stop Online Piracy Act. Some of it may sound like a good idea, but, well, I'll let the rant from NG's head hancho explain it better. (Very rarely do ya see Tom pissed off, but when ya do, there's usually a very good reason behind it.)

I haven't signed any of the linked petitions or anything yet, but I'll be doing that shortly. Understand that if this happens here in the U.S., well, then, my non-native friends, your country, if it isn't already that bad, will most likely follow suit, and eventually we'll all equally be fucked. DON'T LET IT HAPPEN!!!!!

Doesn't something like this come up every 2 to 3 years and nothing happens? Something different this time that might actually bring it to a vote? If it does, we could just Frank Luntz as the "Throw Justin Beiber in Jail act" and that'd kill it.

Yeah, but the U.S. government has been getting increasingly more idiotic these days, save for a few (including the Senator trying to fillibuster this piece of shit), so I'm actually scared that this stupid thing could slip through. As far as dealing with it after the fact if it does go through, why let it? Who knows what these loons in Congress will pull out of their ass to prevent stopping it once AND IF it becomes law?

I know I might be a tad paranoid, here, but I feel I have good reason.

Lulzsec Leaders No Longer Anonymous...?

If this is true, I say good, fuck 'em, but I wonder that would really be "the leaders" if they got caught. Red herring? Not to mention, you remove one leader, 5 other take his place.

He'd better get his ass into witness protection - not just over the people he snitched on, but all the victims of the hacking.

......Y'know, at least Anonymous has some sort of coherent reason behind what they do (regardless of how they go about it); this douche and those other douches are....well, no need to explain.

This may or may not be a waste of government manpower... depending on if it bares fruit or not...

WOW!!!!!!!!!!

Really?!!

http://gizmodo.com/5896678/rupert-murdoch-...-a-pay+tv-rival

Just....WOW.... I always thought of a company doing something like that but never that it would EVER be implemented let alone by a major company let alone successfully let alone the practice in of itself not even being RARE (this is apparently way more common than people realize).

It's like the idea that Pirate Bay could honestly exist just to cripple rivals at the service of paying corporations.

It's like Anonymous and Lulsec was hired by Sega to take revenge once and for all on Sony, Microsoft and others for having to be a "slave" to all of them (with Nintendo done and hardly just to make it look fair and keep heat off their now-stronger ally).

This world gets weirder and weirder, we always knew corporations headhunted hackers as part of cyber-security, but wow...... This is some CIA shit.

If this is true, then that pic is accurate - Murdoch really is Mr. Burns.

And not in a funny way, either.

How the fuck is he still running any business at all? It's already well-known that he's a douche. (I can't remember what all he did, exactly.....)
