After more than half of the set was introduced by the magazines, finally, the new set is here. This time...again it's about "Neos" (as is the sake of the set name), or really, is it more "Ancient"?
Anyway, as usual, I would write my first impression on each set with the themes, the decks, and at last, the best/worst
Card Trends and theme:
Last set we have 12 GX cards...this time, a striking 10 (if I didn't count it wrong), and more strikingly, ALL of them are used by...who else? That lucksack duelist Judai.
Anyway, outside of the normal GX stuff, this set we see the coming back of several Normal monster (with 2 of them having higher attack strength than every Normal monster of the same level). But in addition, we start more Ancient stuff: the legend of Six Warrior (although it's more China...), some Dark Realmers, a cycle of 4 that have effect activates from hand, 6 that make all the "other unlike" gone from the field. At the end...Ritual monsters, back to the old way.
It's time to discuss about any new deck types: fun or what-not...
- Six Warrior Group
- "Normal monster" Ritual combo
For deck types that get boosts:
- Neospacian/E-Hero (just more stuff for one to use)
- Dark Realm
- Beast-Warrior, Dino, Sea Serpent (well...minimal)
- Attribute theme (minimal)
- Alien (minimal)
- "Normal monster" based (i.e. BEWD) deck
- Anti-(something): Fusion, Ritual, "Good stuff"
OK, not very long, but at least most of the cards have some kind of use
As obvious, we would now look at the useful (not necessary GREAT!!) cards that I believe could be consider to add to deck (no matter theme or every decks...). It goes down from the cardlist.
- Genetic Warwolf
- Frost Saurus
- Neospacians Ground Mole
- Six Warrior Group x6 + Head General - Shien
- Assassin of Dark Realm - Kaki
- Tactician of Dark Realm - Green
- Alien Psycho
- Ancient Rule
- Deal of Dark Realm
- "A" Cell Spreading Bomb
- Advanced Ritual Technique
- Card Trader
- Skyscraper 2 - Hero City
- House Crushing
- Legitimate Bloodline
- Tatami Fold
This is it for my first look at the set. Of course, there're always possibilities that I underrate/overrate some cards. But the list above is really me "putting down any cards that you can even play" anyway.
But now, we have to choose the worst card of this set...
(Drumroll): Hero Medal : This card, however, is nowhere to the woeful level as the last "worst cards". It just seems to me that it have no impact what-so-ever on the game...shuffle back --> fliter one? Why not just Card Trade it?

What does Hero Medal do again? It goes back to the deck when destroyed, and you get to draw a card? And Hummingbird might be able to function in a life point gain deck with fairies. Just maybe...
