The aim of this project is to help people who are incapable of reading Japanese and/or Chinese to read their cards, at least roughly. I hope everyone can contribute abit, especially those who are well-versed in Kanji. I'm not going to ask for 10 words a day; even one a day will suffice.

The list is available in the Yahoo group files section under the name "Gundam War Kanji List", or from the forum itself, http://s11.invisionfree.com/Wargames_Centr...hp?showtopic=46
under the General section.

Anyway I hope you guys help make this a success. This list may, at times, be difficult to use, and there is probably some memorizing, or at least recognizing work to be done (i.e. being able to recognize the word and link it to its meaning, but you don't need to recall how to write).

Any words you want to add to the list etc should be posted on any forum, preferbly straight onto the Wargames_Central forum. I have a funny feeling the forum doesn't support japanese characters though; in which case it may be necessary to have an external link, or a file. If you have compiled a couple of words, feel free to drop me a pm and I'll give you my email.
Of course, those who contribute would get their name in the credits :P

[B]Non-special Rule Katakana
Katakana generally sound much like the word in English. For example, "Gundam" is spelled as "Gandamu" in Japanese. This is also why Japanese sometimes seem to have horrible english, particularly if you watch anime. Sometimes its because they are reading katakana in their dialogues, and not really speaking english per-se.

ガンダム- Gandamu (Gundam)
カード - Kaado (Card)
ターン - Taan (Turn)
ゲーム - Gemu (Game)
ドロー - Doroo (Draw)
ユニット- Yuniito (Unit)
オペレージョン - Opereezhion (Operation)
コマンド- Komando (Command)
キャラクター - Kyarakutaa (Character)
キャラ - Also character, but this is often after the word "セット", as in [セット/キャラダ] i.e set on character
プレイ- Purei (Play)
ロール - Roru (Roll)
メージ - Dameeji (Damage)
セット - Setto (Set)
フェイズ- Feizu (Phase)
エリア- Eria (Area)

Hiragana
Hiragana is often coupled with kanji, but there are some words and prefixes/affixes/etc that are worth noting.

この- kono (this)
その - sono (that)
の - no (term used to link A and B, where B "owns" A, i.e. Possessive marker)
-ない - -nai (never present alone, it follows a word and gives it a negative meaning i.e. cannot)
できます- dekimasu (can)
できない -dekinai (cannot, notice the "-nai" indicating the negative meaning)
できる - dekiru (to occur)
する- suru (roughly means "to go ahead", can't quite get the right term for it atm...)
