QUOTE
This is the real reason Japan is dying. STUPID WOMEN, not that it's confined to just Japan. This is why the divorce on THE PLANET is so high.

Well, in Japan, the divorce rate are not that high if I'm not wrong, but that's b/c ppl are not even marrying in the first place anymore (I mean, go and find a women that want nothing but money...very hard)

My thought on the story? I thought only otakus are (supposed to be, stereotypical) the one that can't distinguish b/t 2-D and 3-D, guess not...

That was my reaction when I first saw on Nebs blog myself.

On one side, I can understand the ladies feeling threatened...*cracks up laughing* Oh, I just couldn't do that with a straight face XD I was ALMOST ready to give them the benefit of the doubt, when they playtested it themselves for a while (have to wonder what those "sessions" were like). They stated clearly that the game seemed harmless, and yet got all uppity when they felt that ONE CHARACTER could threaten a marriage?!? What the frik kind of foundation was their marriage built upon, Jello!? It is as what was already said. If their marriage is so fragile that a VIDEO GAME could ruin it, then just about ANYTHING could destroy it. I mean, a woman walking by in a short skirt, on the streets, would just as likely turn that guy's head. Instead of deciding what is good or bad for the marriage, they need to work on establishing more dialogue and uncover what motivates/stimulates the other.

As for a video game counting as adultry? Well, I mean, many women have claimed the same over porn magazines or videos, so THAT much doesn't surprise me. HOWEVER, if a court were to rule that the video game counted as an affair, they'd also have to rule those guys as world heroes, considering how many times they must have saved the world with that DS. In my case, I think I deserve half a dozen Purple Heart and a set of Congressional Medals of Honor by now. XD What about you guys? I've beaten everyone from Ganon to Nyx.

Eagle: Nah, most men would probably be thrown into jail by now for polygamy, I mean, they're probably married to who knows how many 2-D girls by now...

In the end, no wonder they want to pass all these laws outlawing anything slightly more violent, I mean, those people are the one that can't distinguish b/t 2-D and 3-D, not the gamers...

Sankaku Complex has lots of these topics in it.

(That site is filled with 18+ materials and there are lots of bias in it, enter at own risk)

Oh... boy...

http://www.gamepolitics.com/2009/11/05/ven...ed-gamer-reacts

People who know me know I have been seriously considering the idea of see what it would take to really organize a Gamer Democracy Party in this nation.

I'm sick and tired of the scapegoating and nothing will ever get done as long as gamers continued to be unrepresented and misrepresented. Getting mad over it does nothing as long as you sit on your ass and play Halo 3 like it will blow over or someone else will do something. Just ask the gay community in Maine how well THAT works.

Gamer Nation is a bigger sub-culture than blacks, gays and Jewish (all of which get some form of protection and/or and or representation) combined and we contribute more to the economy in a month than most forms of commerce do in a year for this country and we do it COMPLETELY WILLINGLY. Or did movies, beer and cigarettes suddenly cost 50-90 dollars at any given time, let alone multiple times in a month. We can bitch about price all we want, but I promise when a game comes... WILL WILL SUPPORT IT. We are almost a religion and if we were, it would be as big as Christianity. Just like the so-called Christians whenever you want them to do something and you just have to mention Jesus and they do it, games are our religion and most of us will drop that 70 bucks the instance you even think "Final Fantasy."

I think it's time the world recognized we are Gamers and we're here to stay. Really, we've always been here in one form or another, putting your children through college and paying for your wars. We are not the enemy your politicians wish to make us just to win elections or or the molesting uncle that parents make us when they wish to blame anything else but their own bad parenting. We are you and your children and your grandparents and your future. We are gamers.

*Excuse me for getting part of that out here, I will copy paste it later to add to something I'm writing on this topic.*
