Title: Card Review #192
Description: Harpy's Pet Baby Dragon

Well, time to return for a card review.

Anyway, this time, we would look at another popular card from EOJ - Harpy's Pet Baby Dragon.

----------------------------------------------
EOJ-JP013
Harpy's Pet Baby Dragon
Wind/Dragon/4/1200/600
This card adds effect text(s) according to number of monster with [Harpy] in its name on your field other than [Harpy's Pet Baby Dragon].
1 - When this card is face-up on the field, opponent cannot choose monsters with [Harpy] in its name on your field as target of attack other than [Harpy Pet Baby Dragon]
2 - Double this card's original attack and defense strength
3 - Once per turn, you may destroy a card on opponent's field.
------------------------------------------------
Art:
Well, Harpy's Pet Dragon (The old one) already look ugly, this one is not really that much better.

As the Baby of an ugly dragon (This time, it's given to Harpy Girl), it's not like this dragon will be any better - well - what a waste to the beauty of Harpy Girl (Harpy Lady doesn't look that good...)

Rating - 2.1/10

Stats/Requirement
First, this card is 4-star, means that unlike the old Dragon, you can just summon this card, which is not bad at all.

With the stats of 1200/600, it's not necessarily a bad thing. True, it's VERY weak, but 1200/600 make it fetchable by [Critter] and [Dragonfly], which is good...

Wind/Dragon...well, what else could it be?

Rating - 5.8/10

Effect:
For now, this is the shortest review I've ever type...but as I always say, effect is what matter.

This card, clearly inspired by [Cyber Blader], has effect involved with the number of monsters on field. But this time, it's cards with [Harpy] in its name on your field (Other than itself, obviously)

So, let get started:
1. Harpy Lady: The 1300/1400 vanilla one...VANILLA...no good
2. Harpy Lady SB: 1800/1300, still semi-vanilla, but at least it's kind of stronger
3. Harpy Lady 1: Obviously the best out of the trio. 300 attack boost DOES mean something consider the weakness inherit with the Harpys...
4. Harpy Lady 2: OK effect...but since its stats is weak...
5. Harpy Lady 3: Nice effect, but since #1-4 + this card is essentially counted as the same card, you won't EVER find space for him.
6. Harpy Girl: 400/400 vanilla?? Bad...
7. Harpy Pet Dragon: The person that even consider putting it in a deck = FAIL.
8. Harpy Triplet: Well, an extremely weak NOMI...1950/2100 just goes nowhere...

In the end, since #1-5 above is the same card (3 total in a deck), there're not that many choice, right??

I usually use 2x Harpy Lady 1, with the last being Harpy SB or 3rd Harpy Lady 1, along with 1 Triplet. Enough?? Well, I don't really know.

Now after considering how this card will work with others, let's take a look at its effect:

If you have 1 Harpy on the field (Other than this card), your opponent can't destroy them unless they destroy this card first. Well, nice pet, but this effect is only helpful to a certain point.
If you have 2 Harpys on the field, this card attack strength double + your opponent can't attack other Harpys except this card (Remember the effect accumulate), well, quite good, consider opponent will probably WON'T able to destroy a 2400 ATK monster easily and will have to resort to barbaric tactics.
If you have 3 (or more) Harpys on the field except this card, you get a 2400 ATK (Usually with bonus by Harpy Lady 1), once-per-turn free destruction, and shielding Dragon. YES, it can get that good. Consider opponent can NOT destroy your other Harpys via battle, well, they'll have to resort to barbaric tactics...

Is this card good?? Well, consider it's VERY hard to get 3 Harpys on the field, of course having 3 or more should be rewarded (You can only have maximum of 4 Harpys anyway...since the effect does NOT count this card). But obviously, it can force opponent into stupid barbaric tactic again, and once you're able to annoy them with Harpys...it IS fun.

Rating - 8.9/10

Overall - 7.1/10 - I love this card, and this card singlehandly get Harpy deck much stronger. But with the stupid 3 Harpy rule, it's VERY annoying to think how this card could have been much better if 3x Harpy Lady 1, 3x Harpy Lady 2, AND 3x Harpy Lady 3, along with 3x Harpy Lady SB, can be put into a deck. Well, really, blame Konami for being stupid in the first place for not thinking of Proto Harpy Lady, or errata other cards into search for a card with "Harpy" in its name instead of "Harpy Lady"...

Totally disagree with the art rating ;/

Yeah... the art is definitly better than 'daddies' art... then again Harpy Pet Dragon probably has an art rating of 0.2/10...
