Another year, another Gundam series to test the waters on, though I feel nothing will ever top 00. I really was far too happy with how that one turned out, far too attached to it. The most I can hope from AGE is that I at least enjoy it.



Incidentally, my favorite Gundams in order are now as follows:

Gundam 00
G Gundam
Gundam SEED (with or without problems, but pretending SEED Destiny never happened)


I am just currently getting AGE Episode 1, so I won't comment on that until I get back online. Interesting plot I've read so far though. A legacy show, we haven't done one of those for a while. Also the art style is strikingly different from the CGI and serious look we've been accustom to due to SEED, 00 and Unicorn.

The animation is indeed kindda "simple" if compared to the powerhouse 00, Unicorn or Seed.
Hope that they aren't toning down everything to fit younger viewers here, cause from eps 1 I get the feeling that it's quite light hearted and also the definition of real robots are quite blurry.

My opinion on Episode 1...
1. I'm watching Gundam, right? It looks more like 90s Super-Robot shows to me...
2. Eh...14 years of some machines dominating? It only took Federation 11 months to create Gundam to counter Zaku, and knowing how corrupt Federation is...
3. Okay, they use a kid's design on a Gundam, but they didn't even think about mass producing it?
4. At least the main hero is not that annoying...or not...

I'll keep watching it just b/c it's Gundam and even if it turn bad like GSD, it's still a series that I can laugh at. Top anime this season? Not even close...

And of course, Unicorn trumps this by miles...it's not just the CG, the story is also a LOT better.

This is the first Gundam that I saw that was introducing Men vs Aliens.

Anyway, episode 2, still too super-robot-esque and of course, a Newtype in Yurin. Other than that, okay, Yurin appears, which means I'll keep on watching it since Emily is already getting on my nerves...

Well, AGE system as well, but a beam rifle is all they created? Just create a Buster Rifle, combine with Funnel system, and god knows what else...
