Title: [IMPORTANT] Change in Member Status
Description: READ THIS NOW!!
redbaronii - January 28, 2007 03:01 PM (GMT)
To all members of this forum,
As you may have noticed, there are quite a number of spambots these days. In an attempt to stop them, we have decided to change the settings of the board so that all new users cannot start a new topic until he/she replys in another existing topic. After making their first reply (getting 1 post count), they will be automatically promoted to a normal account.
Existing members are also affected by this change so everyone needs to follow the same instructions (make a reply to another topic first). You may reply to this topic in order to get that 1 post count.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
- Baron

I don't blame ya' one bit. Just remember the dillhole I brought to your attention just a little while ago.........with the 20-some-odd links to porn.....>_< If those had been YGO hentai links, I'd have tracked him down & killed him in a violent bloodbath. :angryfoof: :penguin_8:

Not really. The new members can reply in another topic first before starting an intro topic.

anthony001 - February 7, 2007 03:55 AM (GMT)

im beginning to wander though bcoz its been too long since i read that post
Shogun - February 8, 2007 02:59 PM (GMT)
Baron and Ion never said anything about the chatbox coming back. Nothing's absolute but don't get your hopes up.

Are you sure? I always felt you were a little too computer savy to be human. :D
MystikX - April 30, 2007 11:39 PM (GMT)
Truth be told, I don't think this change has helped much, considering that there have been quite a few spambots in the past week.
redbaronii - May 2, 2007 12:48 PM (GMT)
MysticX:
It stops about 70% of the bots. However, there's absolutely NO WAY to stop ALL the bots unless I do human validation (which is stupid and unnecessary to me)
If you recall how many of them there are BEFORE, at least only average 2 bots/week infiltrate instead of 2 bots/day...

Not to mention, the change sort of proves it's a human spammer anyway. Can't stop those the way you can stop a bot.
Yami_Scott - December 13, 2007 04:09 AM (GMT)
At least you are trying to keep spammers and/or spambots off the site.
