Title: Is there a delay with the server?
Description: Are changes taking longer to apply now?

I guess the best way to explain the question is by example.

I guess it's not really a problem so much as an annoyance and I'd like to know about it or if it's even a problem on my side.

At least, twice now within the last 3-4 weeks, I've changed my avatar (for reasons I won't get into), and both times it took about an hour to register that I had changed or even attempted to change. To a degree that I thought there was an error somewhere between grabbing my avatar off my HD or even using Photobucket but neither way registered a change until after a certain period of time or after I logged off for a while or seemingly if I post, it'll decide to change.

As a new example, I just now changed my signature (again, reasons I won't get into), and I noticed it was overextended from the borders of the posting areas. So of course, I resized the image and reapplied. The change wasn't registered, but I wasn't sure if may it was just still too big, so I resized again. Still no change, but I know the resize was 40 pixels under the old, so something was off.

So I made this screenshot to compare what I see from my angle:

Is it something from my angle, or is there something weird going on?

It is due to the data stored in the server's cache (or something). It's a Invision Power Board thing. I've even experienced the same thing on the old DMComet forum.

For the avatar, it won't register the change unless your avatar is of a different format (PNG, JPEG, GIF etc.). The best way is to host your avatar elsewhere (Imageshack, Photobucket etc.).

As for hosting images on Photobucket, when you change the image (by overwriting the old one), it will also not register the change immediately. I would advise you to host it with an entirely new filename instead of overwriting over the old one.

Actually, I'm noticed Photobucket is kind of pick and choosy about that overwriting thing.

Like the list I use on my Konami Project to show my progress, all I have to is replace it on Photobucket and it will change the instant I do it.

Maybe it's a size thing.

NOW, I remember why I've never use the URL avatar uploader.

For whatever reason, this site doesn't let you put codes in for anything even remotely long of a URL.

Example I was going to use this...

Which would show this:
user posted image

Obviously, that's actually a normal length of any coded image hosting sites. Yet impossible to get the whole code in the dialog box.

Is there's nothing that can be done about that, I mean as far as my angle?
