Title: Card Review #178
Description: Devildozer

redbaronii - November 21, 2005 10:51 PM (GMT)
Finally, the long awaited SOI is release, so it's time to start writing reviews for cards in SOI!

First of all, welcome to Insect week. During this week, I (and Spikes?) would probably do some Insect featured stuff...well, as long as we are not throw off by Thanksgiving...

As I had said before, Insects are tricky, but really, they're EVERYWHERE also. This time we would visit the one that lived in the ground...

SOI-JP024
Devildozer
Earth/Insect/8/2800/2600
This card cannot be Normal Summon. This card cannot be special summon other than by removing 2 Insect sub-type monsters from your Graveyard. When this card does battle damages to opponent, send the top card from opponent's deck to Graveyard.

Art:
At first, the name really comes from the idea of an Insect being a "Bulldozer" for those who don't know...well, what do Bulldozers do? Most of the time, they would run over places and destroy the ground and what's above it (such as houses). Well, this centipede is actually NOT an Insect (WHY? Too much legs...of course), it looks like a flatworm/earthworm, but actually more or less termite like stuff. Well, centipede destroy woods, like Bulldozer destroy structures. Really, I don't get why it would be an "Insect", except it is scientifically belongs to the same Phylum.
RATING: 7.1/10

Stats/Requirement:
This card is Level 8 Earth/Insect with attack/defense of 2800/2600, which is tie for second in terms of stats for an Insect with Metal Armored Bug (number one? Ultimate Perfect Great Moth!). Well, but the difference between this card and MAB is this card is special summon by effect (and the easiest: Remove cards from game), but the bad thing is this card, like Great Moth, is a nomi.

Well, the requirement is basically remove 2 Insect sub-type monsters from the game from your Graveyard. Hard? Think about the mini Insects that sneak around trying to find survival (Ants, Scarabs, Love-Beetles, etc.), once they're kill, they would basically be feeded up by the ground and this thing would comes out of nowhere...Overall, nice stats (same as Black Magician of Chaos...), but easy to special summon. The only bad thing is this card IS a nomi...which hurt because it cannot resurrect over...
RATING: 8.4/10

Effect:
Well, this card don't have much extra effect. This card basically mill the top card off opponent's deck when it deals battle damages to opponent...this part could be WAY better if this card have Trample (which make sense also), but it don't...unlike [Needle Worm] which it uses Needle to destroy cards, this creature just run over to opponent's card, destroy it like it did to wood (paper are from wood), then just...get out in no seconds (it's a FAST creature)

RATING: 3.5/10

AVERAGE - 7.1/10 - Well, does this card worth playing? I would say in Insect deck, YES for sure for the ease of special summoning. But really, this card does not do much other than give a player a sudden beatstick that boost up the weak Insect forces. It's not a bad card, just seems to be "make in hurry", and could be better if the effect would be more creative.
