Dungeon Investigation Squadron: A New Dawn

It's been so long I don't even remember what we used to be about. Oh right, it was stuff on OoT. Debug stuff, beta stuff, etc. Too bad it's pretty much all figured out.

So, what we need now is a new direction. Some of us have gone on to gain experience in newer professions, and others have just gone. The DIS needs a new definition. As suggested in the cbox, we could turn to ROMhacks and game modding. It seems like the better option for growth, rather than a simple community that talks about games.

However, the downside to that plan is that Linux/Ubuntu users might not have the capacity to do modding. So a "Plan B" must be made. Either way, the DIS needs a new name. We are no longer the Dungeon INVESTIGATION Squad. (Besides, we need a sexier name)

I propose the LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN! Not really.

We attempted game making before, using Multimedia Fusion 2. But due to lack of interest, a forum never really started for it. Still Gamefreak and I are working on a remake of Link's Awakening.

I still am up for it. I lost interest in other making of games, yes. I love modding, and things in games. There is endless possibilities within modding, so why not try it? Not TOO many people use Ubuntu, and plus I am sure there could be ways around it.
I am willing to bring it back, would be fun. Also name...

Yea, I think I am the only person who uses Linux anywhere in my city...
Anyway, I haven't tested this due to problems with downloading a emulator, but you may be able to run Utility of Time, using Wine. I can't be sure, because I couldn't find any documentation on it, but it might be possible.
But turning this place into a place for modding would be great, IMO.

Well if we do end up modding, would we really want to keep ol' invisionfree, or make a new website? Jordan's pretty good at InvisionPower boards, and there's also the option of SMF 2.0.

I am purchasing Vbulltien for my site soon, but I switched from IPB too PhpBB for some problems with IPB, but I am not to familiar with phpBB. I have never tried SMF, but I will Download it., and upload to try it out, and see. I know of people whom use it, and it does well.
Also I think maybe we should still try to gather enough people willing to go to a full website, so we don't waste money, and things. I think it would be good to try to get a good base, before we jump into things.....

True, but a good website attracts members. Perhaps we should start with a forum, then work our way up to a full-scale website.

Right. Mewtroid and a few others don't like the idea. I personally think we may have rushed the decision, so it's mostly our fault. =( Still, Jordan is an excellent site designer and if we choose, we can move out of invisionfree.
