1. I should think this one would be obvious, but it's going here anyway. If you wish to join the site, you may not be any of the following things: Illiterate (in the sense that you do not know how to spell, or the general rules of grammer, and cannot make a role-play post longer than two sentences), a powerplayer, a god-modder, or MOST importantly, a despie. Of course, if you happen to be one of these things and want your head torn off, please, feel free to join. Also, Mary-Sue and Gary-Stu characters are not welcome here. You will be banned immediately if you refuse to change a Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu character.
2. Please try to keep swearing to a minimum. You're free to curse, but keep in moderation, no swearing every three words. Do not use 'gay' as an insult, or as a word to describe a bad quality in something. There are homosexuals on the site and it can (and likely will) be taken badly. Just don't do it.
3. What the moderators say goes. We're here to help, and when we say something we expect you to listen.
4. You get three strikes and ONLY three strikes before we ban you. For the first strike you'll have to do something pretty big, but after strike one, the admins/moderators will get a lot pickier about the things you're doing and will be watching you more closely.
5. If you feel you must have a fight with someone, please do one of two things. One, create a topic in the 'Rants and Raves' forum and you can carry out the argument there with other members adding their thoughts or two, (and this is probably the best idea) carry out the argument over PM or email. Do NOT argue in IC topics unless your arguing is accompanied with a role-playing post. Do NOT argue in topics that have nothing to do with the subject being debated.
6. Always make sure to post the character who will be taking part in a topic in the subtitle of the topic by putting ATTN: Character & Character. If you don't care who joins then just put ATTN: Any.
7. Do not join a topic if your character's name is not in the subtitle, unless the leader of that topic asks for you to join.
8. The Secret Words for character profiles are black coffee and toast. Your character will not be accepted without these words.
9. Obey the rules of the moderator in charge of the role-play you're in AND these rules. This may mean that you will have to *legasp* check up on rules every now and then if you forget! (It is also a good idea to check back because sometimes I change the secret words for profiles.)
10. Cat got your tongue? If you have writer's block, don't just abandon role-play, inform the people you're writing with first, they may have some ideas to help you out. (I lied. Tongue is the real secret word.)
11. Try not to play the same character in two different role-plays, because you never know when we might have some random plot-spree and combine, say, Harry Potter and LotR!
12. If there will be graphic content, exceedingly vulgar language or anything else that you think some readers may not want to look at, please post this warning: Questionable content, Reader be warned. If we happen to come across a topic that has that kind of content, and no warning it will count as a strike against you.
13. Do not beg moderators for things like powerful items, high-ranked pets, or things like that. Doing so will count as a strike against you and you will not receive what you were asking for. You have to earn things like that.
14. You need moderator permission to start plots or extremely important events in role-play. Failure to correspond with this rule will result in a strike against you.
15. Respect other members, don't lay the blame if something is your fault. Because we WILL find out.
16. Stealing of graphics and creativity is not allowed. I cannot stress how obscenely pissed off people become when something of theirs is stolen, so just don't do it. Don't steal avatars, signatures, character profiles* or role-play posts, it doesn't matter from where or from whom, just don't do it. Being caught stealing will result in immediate banning from the site, no exceptions. *If a character is adoptable and you decide to take them on, there is nothing wrong with that as long as you clearly state that the character in question does not belong to you.
17. You will not be informed if the rules change, it is your responsibility to check back every few weeks or so. If you post a character with the old secret word, it will not be accepted, and if you break a new rule it is still your fault.
