Update

Hello All,

I just wanted to stop by and give a quick update on things in the last 10 months or so. As always, there never seems to be enough time to really sit down and go through my conidae collection. Lately as the seasons have progressed I am finding more of that so I am putting it to good use.

Over the last few weeks I have spent a good amount of any free time rearranging my cones in drawers, adding new ones that I got years ago to the ranks, and putting specimens into clear display boxes and etc, for easier cataloging and presentation. I have decided that I am going to attempt a reclassification of my entire collection, and catlogue it correctly and precisely, to the specimen, again.

1000's of shells await this. I figure it will be a good winter project. I would like to hear from other folks if they have any computer programs that aid in this. I think everyone has seen the ones advertised on that big online auction site, and wanted to know if there is something we could effectively make in Word or elsewhere. I would like to include photos in this. Part of the reason I have taken on this project for the third time, is that I wish to have all this information for insurance purposes, and the more info the much better off I would be in case of calamity.

Any thoughts?

As always, I welcome any discussion about Conidae from anyone.
