Basic Stats Full Name: Pyro Mathew Tyler Nicknames: Pyro, Pi Age: 15 Year: 4th Birthday: October 7th, 1991
Physical Stats Hair Color/Styles: short and in his face, a really pale blonde, and straight. Eye Color/Shape: round, gray eyes Height/Weight: 5’5½’’ (that's three inches over the year, 2 &1/2 over summer)/120 lb Physical Fitness: slender, but not athletic or stick thin. He’s had more time to spend outside and it shows. Tattoo/Piercing: none Scars: none Clothing Style: basically casual. He prefers jeans, t-shirts, and hoodies to anything else. That and pretty much any kind of sneaker that’s about to fall to pieces, usually Chuck-Taylor High-Tops. Other: faint line of freckles across the bridge of his nose, generally only visible during the summer. He's supposed wear reading glasses now, but he only wears them on the very odd occasion because he hates them. I’ll he’s got to show for his month in Florida is a tan.
Personality General Personality: While Pyro continues to have a vicious inner critic ((sorry if writer lingo confuses)), it rarely shows unless he wants it to. Generally, he’s an easy person to talk to. He relies on no one due to the fact that he grew up with highly successful, busy parents and looked after himself a large percent of the time and loning it at school. Pyro has to keep his emotions on the low, emotions being able to trigger his powers. He has a serious edge, but it’s more noticeable when everyone he’s around is on a sugar high and bouncing off the walls.
Now that his mother has remarried, Pyro’s house doesn’t seem so tense and reliant on him, allowing him to develop a more laid-back persona (the vacation in Florida helped too). Strengths: Controlling fire is both his strength as well as a weakness. While fire is powerful, it is dangerous, especially since Pyro has little control over the element. Pyro’s pretty level-headed if he took the time to think a bit and had a little faith in himself. He can be pretty serious at times when it’s needed, but he tends to be klutzy. He’s good at math((unlike me…)), which earned him the unwanted nickname “pi” after the figure for calculating circumference(he says there's a difference between 'pi' and 'py' and he can tell which a person is referring to), and History. He figures those are his favorite subjects because they never change. Math and History are fixed and don't involve opinion. Hang ups: water, and the cold. Pyro is afraid of drowning because he was pushed into the deep end of a pool when he was six and couldn’t swim. While his control issue is still a problem, it doesn’t rule him. He’s starting to get over his confidence problems. How Your Character Reacts with Others: Pyro is sociable, but usually leave the confronting/conversation starting to other people. It’s difficult to get on his bad side if you don’t say something that specifically strikes a nerve. Usually he gives everyone the benefit of the doubt and refuses to judge on first impressions not matter how terrible.
Family Family Pets: his mother’s fluff ball of white fur of a cat named Persephone and his step-father’s Dalmatian Eduardo (which Pyro thinks is absolutely THE stupidest name for a dog which is usually argued with ‘and Persephone’s just a great name for a cat’) Family Members: With Pyro most in mind (at least that’s what he’s been told), his mother (Adrian Simons as of now) has successfully filed for divorce—and managed to do so before Pyro got home for summer holidays. His family is now compiled of: -Arthur Tyler [45], Pyro’s father with high expectations and who now lives in a condo closer to work -Adrian Simons [40] (she decided she wanted to keep her maiden name this time), Pyro’s mother whom has kept their old house and has updated to a hospital with better salaries to keep up with the mortgage on their house -Davis Concord [42], a prominent attorney who happens to be divorced AND psychic that just moved into Pyro’s house as his step-father -Chelsea Concord [15], Pyro’s new techno-kinetic step-sister who has succeeded in annoying the hell out of Pyro and who admits only to loving Pyro’s cooking
History Blood Lines: Hungarian, Norwegian History: Pyro was pretty much a loner when it came to school, causing him to be self-reliant and killing his self-esteem. His parents were always expecting more of him than he could ever give, also adding a feeling of uselessness that had began at school. His parents relied on him for various things like getting groceries and cleaning the house, and other errands. His father especially wanted Pyro to be good at practically everything. All the strain on him first began, really, with his over-achieving parents. Pyro has a hard time figuring out who he is while trying to live up to their expectations.
Basically, everyone had around him at any point in time had a negative effect on him. He could swear grocery baggers he didn't even know where laughing at him silently.
Pyro first came to realize he was "different" when he was thirteen, in a foods lab at a normal school when he set his hand on a working stove burner and he wasn’t burnt. Nobody else noticed this little incident. Pyro kept it to himself. But when Pyro got in a fight with a long-time enemy and that long-time enemy lit on fire, there went the secret and about half the student body had been kept home from school by their parents for the weeks that followed. A handful of bad days and fire extinguishers later, his parents had had enough and discovered Chikabi.
Recently he's discovered just how much power he does have, and it frustrates him to no end that he can't tap into all of it. He's trying to gain more focus and thinking about a wider range of things, such as what he's going to do after he's finished with Chikabi.
With his mother’s decision to file for divorce, Adrian tried to accept the fact that she would likely never re-marry, especially because she could never hide the fact that Pyro (yes, it’s all Pyro’s fault) was gifted to anyone she would consider marrying and that he was a greater priority than any man. She switched to a nursing job in a more prominent hospital to better support the remainder of the family and mortgage. Within a week of being hired she ran into a young girl, Chelsea Concord, who had managed to cause a computer to explode. The girl’s father, a lawyer named Davis Concord, came in, promptly and subtly admitting to being divorced himself (‘it’s hard to keep track of the Chelsea being a working single parent and …’ terribly smooth). He and Adrian dated (all to Pyro and Chelsea’s distress) and Davis turned out to be psychic and, well, vacation was arranged for the four of them in Florida and Davis proposed.
Davis and Adrian took the one of a kind chance and Davis and Chelsea moved from their condo to Adrian and Pyro’s much larger house. The date was set before the end so Pyro and Chelsea could attend before leaving for school. The only thing Pyro and Chelsea can agree on is that they hate the set-up and hate each other, though Pyro doesn’t mind Davis, and Chelsea admires Adrian.
Other Preferences: naturally, Pyro is drawn to heat and if there’s a fireplace around, that’s what he’s going to be closest too. Pretty much the only stuff he ever reads is non-fiction (war and crime stories mostly) and horror. He’s read most of Stephen King books. Similarly, the only movies he really watches (not that he has a lot of time to watch movies) are action films, war movies, and film adaptations of Stephen King books he’s read.
Pyro cannot stand rain. He and water don’t get along in general, to do both with his powers and his nearly drowning/consequent fear of drowning. Hobbies: Reading (now that he has the time), hanging out with friends (which he has now!), cooking, and chilling anywhere. Speaking Mannerisms: he’s easy to make laugh, though he doesn’t have any real mannerisms besides that.
Powers Control: Pyro lacks decent get control, but he’s working on it. He has a general idea of how powerful he could be, but has a looooong way to go before he’ll reach that level Abilities: Pyro is pyro-kinetic, as well as a pyromaniac. And on top of that, he’s fire-proof, which comes in handy when you have no control over fire whatsoever and are constantly lighting fire to things.
Player Name: Christy Other Characters: Carter Samby, Elektra Sharone, Lucas Bouldeveu, Justice Efity, Arit Valone, Stella Avery, Selene Avery, Sebastian McConnell, Natalie Kazinski, (soon) Chelsea Concord, and Bianca Vigalini
