Basic Stats Full Name: Carter Anthony Samby Nicknames: Carter, Demon boy Age: 16, or soon-to-be 23. Want him dead or alive? Year: 3RD Ya-ye! Go original characters! Birthday: August 21st, 1985
Physical Stats Hair Color/Styles: jet black, straight, and sort of grown out, long enough to get in his face constantly, giving him a sort of mysterious edge. Eye Color/Shape: hazel, but they are eerily lifeless to look into. Height/Weight: 5’11’’, weightless. Physical Fitness: athletic looking build. Tattoo/Piercing: none. Scars: he has a scar slanting across his right cheek starting by his ear and ending around his jaw. He got in a knife fight when he was fifteen, which he won. Clothing Style: Carter tends to wear darker colors and worn out clothes because he prefers not to be noticed and talked to. Other: he never changes ‘cause he doesn’t age.
Personality General Personality: Carter can be very morbidly blunt. He has a specific kind of understanding of how the world works, and how unforgiving it can be. Carter’s experiences have led him to be completely against faith. He realizes what consequences due, how they work, and he hates them. Carter rarely thinks about consequences and wishes doing things led to no change in his life and the people around him. Driven by his dark past and horrific nightmares, Carter has little optimism. While Carter has a habit of doing very little for others, if it affects him in any way (his already screwy conscience, repercussion, etc.) he will almost definitely do something about it. Strengths: his familiarity with death and his experiences have left Carter with fear of very little. The only thing he’s really afraid of is having it all happen again, to have more blood on his hands. Having killed, died, and come back, Carter would without doubt have something to say to anyone thinking of homicide or suicide (even though it looks like he tries all the time). His opinions are strong and his understanding of certain things inconceivable for most. He is intimidated by very little. Hang ups: Before his life even started going downhill after his father’s death, Carter already decided against driving (but that was in New York which has a million busses, a million taxis, and the biggest subway system in the world). Due to his work with timed bombs (always analog) the sound of a clock ticking drives him insane and he very rarely knows the time so he’s usually late or early. To see Carter in the library would be an enormous shock. His final explosion before his death, he blew up a library, killing his girlfriend in the process. Carter absolutely hates libraries for this fact. His history in mind, Carter is always a little jumpy if a cop is around, though his criminal activities were years and years ago and he’s supposed to be dead. Lastly, and probably most importantly, Carter strays away from anything that could become anything more than friendship. His trick to never hurting anyone he would give a damn about is to never have anyone that he gives a damn about. How Your Character Reacts with Others: if Carter can avoid a conversation, he usually will. As of late, he will remain pleasant enough as long as his family, his past, and anything leading to his memories comes up.
Family Family Pets: Murray the cat, and Ella the beagle. That’s it, though neither is still alive now. Family Members: his father, Anthony Samby, manager of a small store in Brooklyn, NYC. He was killed in a car accident, a head-on collision with a drunk driver, two weeks shy of Carter’s fifteenth birthday. Sandra Samby, who worked as a nurse, never remarried and worked a lot to support what was left of the family. She’s retired now, and Carter knows exactly where she lives, what she does during the week, but cannot let her know that he still exists as a demon.
History Blood Lines: Scottish, French History: Carter grew up in an apartment in Brooklyn, New York City with his parents and went to nearby public school. His family was middle class, his childhood average. It was his first year of high school that screwed it all up.
Early August 1999, two weeks prior to his fifteenth birthday, Carter’s dad was involved in a fatal head-on collision with a drunk driver. His mother had to pick up more hours at the hospital to make up for the bills and rent. Carter felt suddenly very alone.
He became reclusive, and ditched his friends from the previous year for a dodgier group. His mother was too busy with work and Carter was rarely home long enough for Sandra to take note of Carter’ s downward spiral. The only support he got was from the only real friend he had left: a brunette named Nina Summers who had lived in the same apartment building for seven years who he’d been going out with for a little over four months (I can’t think of any other way to say this even suggestively. Carter didn’t die a virgin).
Carter quickly grew more aggressive. He skipped school and when he did end up going, 90% of the time was spent in the Principal’s office for smoking, back-talking, swearing, or getting into fights. Only the beginning of his violent downfall.
It wasn’t until he was sixteen that he grew tired of his minor offenses. With his prior knowledge of chemicals and a bit of research, he became well equipped with explosives: especially timed bombs.
The first building he ever blew up killed thirteen people. In his blind lunacy and depression, it became a game to see how long he could evade the police and how many people he could kill before he got caught. Nina eventually caught on to his “game” though not before 18 more people were killed.
The day she went to confront him (of both his criminal activities and otherwise *cough*), she called his house only to be told by Sandra Samby that Carter had gone to the library. Nina caught the next bus to the library; Carter’s next disaster area. Nina was killed in the explosion which killed twenty-four people and her unborn child (shhh. Carter doesn’t know that). Carter was devastated. He lasted little over three days before completely giving over to his depression. He killed himself in a warehouse that was nearby, killing workers in the area. Only, Carter’s plan didn’t work out quite the way he planned. He hadn’t counted on becoming a demon (who can only die the same way he did originally which is being impaled by an umbrella at high speeds).
Other Preferences: Carter was a smoker previous to his death, and has picked up the habit again due to the stress he’s been feeling as of late. Being dead, there really isn’t any harm in it for him (though that doesn’t eliminate second hand smoke), when drinking, which he does plenty, he likes anything strong. Carter will do anything he really has to at night, but because he hates books and reading, there isn’t much he has to do. Hobbies: Carter has a tendency to, well, what would normally be considered attempt to commit suicide (because he’s bored and he knows he can’t die unless he trips into an umbrella shop), he enjoys causing trouble, and takes pride in his ability to avoid all things classified ‘academic’. Before his father died, he did play some basketball (he was actually a pretty promising center) and hung out with friends (who weren’t so shady at that time). Speaking Mannerisms: none, really, save for some terrible grammar and his inability to stay still.
Powers Control: Carter’s control varies. Sometimes he has perfect control. When he is in a truly bad mood, he can get to a point where he isn’t completely aware of what he’s doing and he becomes a lot stronger than he normally is. Abilities: intangibility (which means he can pass through solid objects whenever he wants to) and creating balls of raw energy
