Forum Rules IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

On August 20 2009, Brainstock moved to a new board. What you are currently looking at is only an archive of old threads - everything is now taking place in the new forums.

Please switch to the new board now: http://s1.zetaboards.com/brainstock/

The reasons for this move were several unfixable issues with the old board. Examples are broken styles, missing features like a "find all posts by this member", no search feature, the lack of root access. No admins had access to the admin logs, for instance.

By moving, these and several other issues have been fixed, the forums had been improved. The admins now have root access and therefore unremovable logs to improve admin accountability, and we're now using ZetaBoards instead of InvisionFree, which offers a regularly updated software and lots of new features.

If you are seeing this message for the first time and are not here to look at archived threads, this is what you need to do: First, register on the new board. Then, if you had been registered on the old board and if you are part of a group or had any special access privileges, make sure to request your previous permissions here.

Should you encounter any links pointing to the old board (archive), please try to update them. Thank you for your help!

Updated - Alex

The UD Inventory and Graphics Enhancer (called the UDToolbar) is a FireFox extension with a number of features to improve the look and function of the Urban Dead game interface. Besides making the buildings into pretty pictures, it also combines your inventory, gives you a button to easily repeat common actions like attacking and searching and even provides a way to submit Revivification Requests directly from the game interface. Here's a sample screenshot:

The current maintainer, sluutthefeared participates on this thread, so feel free to ask questions or make suggestions here.

When you install or update the extension, you will also need to download the CSS file (available on the same page) and, once you restart Firefox, open UDToolbars preferences window and load the CSS file. If you are also using the UDTool for faction recognition you will need to turn of UDTools inventory combiner as they will conflict and neither will work properly.

Ewwwww, you made me look in that other forum! wacko.gif sad.gif

Next time just replicate the notice/links. wink.gif It looks like this works with UDTool? It sems to do the inventory different (and I kind of like the way UDTool does it). I also find the UDTool colorizer FAR to useful to risk breaking for pretier building icons.

Man, did you even LOOK at the picture? laugh.gif I use both without having a problem, thank you very much. Note the MFD and MPD members in the building with me and their different colors.

I should also add that I've created some custom icons for the weapons. If you're a fan of the Fallout series, I'll be posting a link shortly for you to download them.

Fallout icons have been uploaded. You can grab them here. Once you extract these in the appropriate area under your chrome directory it will replace Assidragons Icons (do a search for "siteA" under your documents and settings\profile\application data folder).

Those Fallout icons are pretty neat. I'm amused by the Jagged Alliance ones, too. Of course, those are two of my favorite games ever.

Actually with the JA2 icons, I think he should have used the X-Ray Detector for the DNA Extractor instead of the shaped charge, but that's just me.

I use Safari for everything but Urban Dead. Firefox is worth it!

Sorry. Can't find where to put your icons. I've done a find at / and still can't find the icon names that you are replacing. Any words of wisdom?? (I'm on a mac.)

For Mac? Hmmm, good question. Let me see what I can find out for you.

Apparently jack and diddly squat. Anyone with more Mac experience want to tackle this one? Sphinx? Deer Runner?

Great job with this GE! wub.gif

I'd like to make a question/petition: now that Opera browser has made his own "plugin system", would it be possible to develop an Opera widget version of UD graphic enhancer? unsure.gif

(Yup, I'm a happy Opera user happy.gif)

Ha! What programming language does it use? These are all community-driven so we'd need to know the language before anyone starts to write plugins smile.gif
