Title: Evanecence, Kelly Clarkson, all the popular artist
wolverine - October 8, 2006 10:29 PM (GMT)
I love Fergie, Kelly Clarkson, and Evanescence.
BlueKara - October 8, 2006 10:43 PM (GMT)
Erm... This forum is for posting music that YOU made. But, come to think of it, we should have a general music disscusion. I'll pin this and we'll just call it, "General Music Disscusion", or "Complete Music Discussion", or "Flipsnort".
And I like music from the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Some of my favorite bands are The Beatles, Queen, and Pink Floydd.
wolverine - October 8, 2006 10:44 PM (GMT)
I hate all of them, I like Bob Dylan and James Taylor.

Dude, I, like, laughed out load at that. I know it probably wasn't intended to be a joke, but, it's funny how... nevermind... No one really gets my sense of humor. But believe me, it was bloody hilarious.
I've had Dancing Queen stuck in my head all day today.
wolverine - October 8, 2006 10:48 PM (GMT)
tell me whats so hilarius!
BlueKara - October 8, 2006 10:51 PM (GMT)
Well, it's like, I say I love several bands and you bluntly say you hate all of them. Bluntness is funny in my circles. And my squares, too.
I liked Kelly Klarkson's "Just Walk Away". I haven't heard of the other two bands, though.
wolverine - October 8, 2006 10:54 PM (GMT)
all the popular artist are not a band. I love "Walk Away" have you ever herd the song "Call Me When Your Sober" or "Bring Me To Life" both by Evanescence?
BlueKara - October 8, 2006 10:56 PM (GMT)
Oh, yeah, I've heard Call Me When You're Sober. The video was freaking bizzare. She, like, had a wolf, and stuff. Yeah...
wolverine - October 8, 2006 10:58 PM (GMT)
I love it! It reminds me of when I was gothic, oh wait I still am! It also reminds me of Death!
Nessus - October 9, 2006 06:29 PM (GMT)
Erm... kinda in what ways does it reminds me to death?
I pretty much like the music Evanescence makes, but that videoclip... well it was more bizarre than anything else. I mean what was that guy doing? Only having that stupid smile on his face...
Anyhow, I like all the music you were talking about so far, and as a plus I would add Mike Oldfield, and Nine Inch Nails. :D
BlueKara - October 9, 2006 06:52 PM (GMT)
What music is popular in Hungary?
Nessus - October 10, 2006 06:39 PM (GMT)
That is a pretty hard question to answer. There are several musical styles represented in Hungary. Kinda, there are the mainstream ones, and all that gibberish pop and stuff music that comes from MTV and VIVA+ (or just VIVA, I don't really know) and such channels. There aren't many internationally famous AND popular music groups in Hungary. We have several alternative rock - and just alternative bands (such like Kispál És a Borz, Heaven Street Seven, Zanzibár, Tankcsapda, A.E. Bizottság, and many more that I do not know of) but they are only popular in a certain circle of people. Nowadays it seems to me that the most popularity goes for the disco remixes, and disco music... which is - as far as I see it - built up from mainly one rythme (if there is a rythme) loads of electric and vision tricks, and brainless girls and boys doing things with their legs and arms that they think is dancing.
The elder in Hungary tends to listen to hungarian folk music, or rather bands that are trying to create dico-like remixes from original folk music, and/or other types of folk music reediting. It's pretty... well embarassing, as I don't really like most of our folk music, and I really hate these disco sounds and they tend to believe that if you can kinda do like singing and remembering long sentences, than you are a showman...
There is one group although that is very ... impressing. They are doing this folk music re-creating, but they are pretty creative and they are not only trying to get a keyboard and playing simple tunes, but they are actually doing something. You've might have heard about them - er... well you might not, I don't believe they are That famous.. - Anyhow, their name is NOX.
So after giving this long speech, I think the country's main interest in music is kinda manipulated by the songs played on MTV and on VIVA TV. In my circles usually those groups are popular that I've mentioned in my last post. And those alternative ones that I have just mentioned.
If you'd like (and I make it somehow) I kinda gladly send you some of them to listen.
This is one from Kispál És a Borz

Dude, you're hilarious.
And that's kinda the way things are here in America, only people here hate Disco. (with the exception of me) It is influenced by MTV, and we have several different types that are considered mainstream. The two that first come to mind are Rap and Emo, the last which is kind of like Goth when the Goth music writers are whiny wusses.
I'll tell you what I think of Kispal Es a Borz in my next post. Right now, I'm still loading it and all I get is an occasioanl, half-second long sound and some guy with his head on his hand.
Nessus - October 10, 2006 07:01 PM (GMT)
okay then, I'll be patient.
Oh, and when I was talking about disco, I was not talking about the disco represented by the Bony M style of music, which was hillarious, but the new - age disco things that are... kinda represented by just plain tunes of bass, and lights and the stuff I've told before
BlueKara - October 10, 2006 07:09 PM (GMT)
Well, I don't know who Bony M is, so... Do you mean that the Disco they listen to is like Techno?
And I'm still loading that song.
Nessus - October 10, 2006 07:14 PM (GMT)
Bony M was only misspelled, I was trying to say Boney M. The band that made Daddy cool.
Anyhow, yes, kinda the music I was talking about is similar to techno, and hyperspace, and stuff like.
BlueKara - October 10, 2006 07:23 PM (GMT)
Well, I managed to get some music from the song, (it's still loading) and what I heard I liked. I got all the way up to the part where they were about to RAWK HAWD. What are they saying? Do you have the lyrics?
And I still don't know who Boney M is. I don't remember the names of any musician. Go ahead, give me any musician name. I won't know who they are.
Nessus - October 10, 2006 08:08 PM (GMT)
Well... I have the lyrics... erm.. I'll copy it here to you, and than I'll try to translate it with more or less the same meaning. You see one thing about this group that their lyrics are pretty associational. They write down a sentence, and they associate from it to another and so on and so on...
anyways:
Kispál és a Borz : Tiszai pu.Jó nagyfarkú négerekkel állni a szélbe
Vagy védhetetlen gólt lőni a tv-be
Vagy a Van Halenbe szólózni, míg sok lány sikonyál
"Álmodtam egy világot magamnak"-mer' muszáj
Világvége - mondja be a megafonba a tölcsér hang
Jó itt leszállok, a lépcsőn állok mikor lőnek én vissza bang bang bang
Ennyi - mondom a partneremnek aki szextől aléltan hever
Én vagyok James Dean, kapcsolom a hármat
A nők vonakodnak a vonalkódnak lejött a széle
And the translation
Station by the TiszaIt’s good to stand in the wind beside blacks with great dicks
Or shooting an unblockable goal in the TV
Or to play the solo of Van Halen till loads of girls start cryin’
’”I’ve dreamt up a world for myself’” – becouse I had to
End Of The World – claims the voice in the megaphone
This is okay, I’ll get off, I stand on the stairs (when) they shoot and I bang bang bang back
This is it – I tell to my partner who lays swooningly tired of sex
Well okay, I’m here dreaming people of Miskolc, wake up, that’s capital
(it’s) a MÁV station but above Malév plains are flying
Only one looks up, all the others turns inside
There are ones that are beside the palm trees, but there are ones who has nothing determined
Only the scream of the brakes turns off their inside TV – the picture goes off...
I’m James Dean, and I’m switching to number three
And I am the whole point in the thing and noone can se me
I’m Norbi and I have great shape
The megaphone over there claims that they are just backing the car on to me
I’ve told you that it’s possible to die, haven’t I?
Don’t worry, this is just a ’”hakni’” in Miskolc
Girls are whinning, the amplifiers are giving so-much-noise
Girls are squibbing, the edge of the stripe-code came off
They do not let me into the distance
But I want to get in, I have the weapons
I can be as strong as a strong man
I will save you, little world
I’m falling but this coat’ll be my wings
(it’s) a MÁV station but above Malév plains are flying
Only one looks up, all the others turns inside
There are ones that are beside the palm trees, but there are ones who has nothing determined
Only the scream of the brakes turns off their inside TV – the picture goes off...
Transparent sphere, locked, and empty
Without desires, contented
Nothing beckoning, nothing unfilled
There is no possibility, all is ready....Well now, as you've seen I've underlined much of the lyrics. These are those part where my translation couldn't give back the whole meaning of the sentences in Hungarian, but now I shall explain them.
a) firstly, Miskolc is a smaller town in Hungary where the band played (or rather half-improvised) the song.
b ) MÁV is an abbreviation of the Hungarian State Railways (Magyar Állami Vasutak)
c) Malév is an abbreviation for Hungarian Skylines (Magyar Légitársaság)
d) '"all the others turns inside'" - in the original lyrics this part is a little play with the words. They say that only one person looks up, all the others turns inside, which - in the hungarian original can mean that they are kinda dreamwalking in their own imagination (that's why the next line is about the palm trees and stuff) but it can also mean that they are flying on their own (as a connedtion with the Malév plains over their heads.
e)Norbi is the name of a famous body builder who has many tapes like How to lose weight without doing hard trainings and stuff. Y'know, like the thing Cindy Crawford did and stuff like. Anyhow, the legend is that he once was over 125 kg, but than he decided to lose weight, and less than 5 years he was only 65 kilogramms.
f) '"hakni in Miskolc'" - this is kinda cannot be translated. In Hungarian we call hakni the thing when a small band gives a more or less improvisational concert in a small town.
g)
Stripe-lineWell that's most of it. I hope it is understandable... :D
BlueKara - October 10, 2006 08:24 PM (GMT)
Insteresting. I don't get exactly what they're talking about, though. Just that it involves something exciting happening, means of transportation, stuff happening on/to TV's. I kind of got thrown off by the first line, though.
Nessus - October 10, 2006 08:27 PM (GMT)
Well, that might be partly becouse of my translation. Kinda it is pretty meaningless in hungarian as well. There are many associations. So when they are talking about TV-s they are meaning the people's mind and imagination that is controlled by the TV, or rather look like a TV becouse of the control of the media.... well yeah, it is pretty hard to describe what they are talking about. Even in hungarian. And my translation is pretty bad :D
BlueKara - October 10, 2006 08:43 PM (GMT)
I've heard two minutes of it, and it's really good. I have no idea whyat they're singing in in the video.
Nessus - October 10, 2006 08:50 PM (GMT)
The lyrics above I can assure you about that. Plus if you have fast reading abilities, you can find the lyrics wrote below the video in tiny little white letters moving pretty fast.
BlueKara - October 10, 2006 09:04 PM (GMT)
Hm. I didn't notice those.
hegel5000 - October 10, 2006 09:30 PM (GMT)
Only half of it's loaded so far for me, but that half that I've heard, I really like.
Nessus - October 10, 2006 10:26 PM (GMT)
Well, if you'd like I can send you more. I have all of their albums :D
Grate Oracle Lewot - October 10, 2006 10:56 PM (GMT)
I didn't know you were so talkative, Nessy. :mock: :ph43r:

I'd like that! (as long as they take less time to load) This is all legal, right?
Grate Oracle Lewot - October 10, 2006 11:06 PM (GMT)
Sure. If not, just smile and wave. :) :) :) :) :) :ph43r:
hegel5000 - October 10, 2006 11:23 PM (GMT)
What are the copyright laws like in Hungary?
` And, was there anything about Stephen Colbert (I love his show) trying to get a bridge in Hungary named after him?
BlueKara - October 10, 2006 11:25 PM (GMT)
I have finished loading 2 minutes and 33 seconds of this song!
Nessus - October 11, 2006 03:58 PM (GMT)
Huh... loads of posts :D
@Lewot, I was always kinda talkative... I just didn't have to speak so much till now. :D
@BlueKara, and Hegel5000 this is kinda not legal.. or at least not that kind of legal that you originally call legal. Kinda it is like there is this videoclip on the net, and the band is not really interested in videoclips. They do not give a crap about who watches it. If they'd do, it would be much more protected.
Also, when I was talking about sending more tracks from them I was kinda thinking about doing it on MSN or kinda another way of file-changing (such as gmail, or things)
@Hegel5000 I don't really know who is this Stephen Colbert, and thus I didn't heard about this bridge-naming-after-him. Anyhow, at the moment we don't have any bridges that were built recently, and/or has no names... but... this is Hungary .. so it is not entirely impossible that there will be a bridge named after him :D
There are.. many such funny things :D
BlueKara - October 11, 2006 06:42 PM (GMT)
Well, it would be great if you could put some of these videoes on YouTube or something. That way, you'd be the one posting them and if it was illegal than you'd get in trouble and I wouldn't. Just, please, compress them like a crazy man.
Nessus - October 11, 2006 06:42 PM (GMT)
Well, I still cannot believe it, but... the thing is I've just talked with my girlfriend who told me that there is a big protest somewhere in Hungary becouse there is a new brigde built for the new highway, and they cannot decide how to call it. There were many possibilities for the names, but as they argued someone from America arrived - representing a newspaper - and begin a campaign about: let's name the bridge after him. Guess who was it..
Yeah, Hegel 5000 your information about Stephen Colbert trying to name a Hungarian bridge after him is correct. He IS trying to name a birdge after him. And guess what! He is extremely popular. He almost won the campaign. Only they decided that they cannot name a bridge after a living person. Well.. this is fun
I live in dreamland...
BlueKara - October 11, 2006 06:54 PM (GMT)
:D Ha ha! That's awesome. I'm going to go try to get a bridge named after me.
Nessus - October 11, 2006 07:53 PM (GMT)
well, that's my new goal in life too :D
Erm... the TV just announced that some small-plain had just crashed into a building in New York... do you know any details?
BlueKara - October 11, 2006 08:44 PM (GMT)
No...
Edit: We just turned to the news and, yes, a plane crashed into a building.
Nessus - October 12, 2006 04:28 PM (GMT)
And how did it happen? Is there something serious? Or y'know thing. Kinda here the news said that America is frightened that this was another try of terrorism and such thing...
Oh, and I WANT that bridge to be named after Stephen Colbert :D
BlueKara - October 12, 2006 06:32 PM (GMT)
It was the pitcher for a baseball team. He accidently crashed while driving his plane.
Grate Oracle Lewot - October 12, 2006 10:36 PM (GMT)
What the fop? I never hear about anything. I guess maybe I could try to, but I've never done so before... :ph43r:
BlueKara - October 13, 2006 12:43 AM (GMT)
Oh, and guess what: It was said to be the safest plane made in the business. It had a million safety features. :mock:
