This is the thread to discuss Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, Kamen Rider Decade and... uh that other one... G... So prepare to Vent some Word-Traversing Alcoholics!

Dragon Knight
-Am I the only who feels that it detracts from the story a little for Xavaix to be an alien? "An alien that invaded the alternate world beyond every mirror" it just sounds so weird. Couldn't the Mirror Monsters at least be Ventarans that mutated because of a crazed Generals experiments? Aliens are so Power Rangers...
-I'm getting tired of watching Len transform. Couldn't they shorten the transformation every once in a while?
-Speaking of which, how many Ryuuki fight scene do they need to bring over for each episode? The show is just fighting broken up by dialog half the time...
-Grant isn't so bad for an evil Rider, but the Verde-- I mean Camo suit is just hideous. A Yo-Yo? The guy wants to be the best fighter anywhere so he fights with a yo-yo?
-Kit is getting more gullible by the episode. Maya is getting to be a worse reporter by the episode.
-Introducing Camo, Strike and Thrust all in one episode was just too much... And please tell me Strike is more than just Xaviax's wormy henchman... I haven't even watched Ryuuki and I know that Ouja was a badass.

Decade
-Seriously, those Final Form Rides look hella' painful, At least with the toys they're robotized so you can at least claim that they aren't completely human so it works. The idea of Decade turning the other Heisei Riders into his own weapons is absolutely badass though... I want the toys too
-I wonder how they are going to explain how the real Wataru is acting as Decade's guide while child Wataru is running Kiva World... Is grown Wataru the same Wataru from the series?
-Actually as long as Kiva has a larger role in this outside of Kiva World I'm happy. Kiva wasn't the greatest series, but the Kiva suit continues to be one of the coolest of any Rider.
-This is probably the easiest to watch Heisei Rider series I've ever seen. There's hardly any useless plots that revolve purely around sitcom-style comedy. I've almost come to expect that as inevitability with this series...

Decade 5
-So Tsukasa knew that the Beetle fangire was Otoya (or whatever Wataru's dad's name is in this universe)? Then was it really necessary to kill him? Or is it just that an important person to each Rider in their world has to die?
-So if Kivara is a baby Kivat (or whatever their kind are called) what's with the seductive voice? I get it if its just the equivalent to Kivat's deep voice, but at least Kivat is an adult (I assume). That doesn't even mention the kissing sound she makes when she bites people and how mysterious trench coat man seems to orgasm every time she does it to him (Or should that be Climax?)
-The way Wataru returns to human form from Rider form is just wierd. Its like they forgot that he shot up a few feet when he transformed or just decided to ignore it.
-I'm going to ignore the obvious jokes about Ryuki World's Riders being lawyers ("Objection Vent" or "Kamen Rider Phoenix Wright") and just focus on the important issues... Thirteen Riders weren't enough for them?

Chou Den-O
-They just won't let Den-O fade away. It just wasn't good enough for Kamen Rider Densha Otoko to get his two episodes in Decade, they have to give him a whole 'nother movie. Is he going to get another movie with the Rider after decade too?
-Seriously, "Chou Den-O"...?

Kit pisses me off.

He just LET cameo die. I know they were going to kill cameo quickly because all of cameo's scenes are new, but DAMN WHAT THE HELL KIT? JUST WATCH SOMEONE DIE MUCH?

The alien plot DOES make the story unbelievable. Especially the whole OUR alien planet has exact copies of your planet if you believe.

Why didn't they just call it a mirror world and just make a rider evil?

I can't comment on Decade right now, as I'm determined to marathon through the other rider shows before doing such.

Can't get through Hibiki and Kabuto as hard as I try. I like the motif of them both, but the characters are either so boring or so obnoxious...

Decade doesn't really effect your watching of other seasons since the stories and characters are more-or-less separate. Its not even like you have to have any prior knowledge... Unless of course you're afraid of any spoilers... Because there are a few of those... No more than you'd find by skimming the Wiki pages for the season though...

Dragon Knight 10
-People gave me some hope for Strike by stating that he might be playing more angles by helping Maya, but in this episode we learn that its Xaviax's plan. Plus... "James"? The badass King Cobra Rider is named "James"... Yeesh, there is zero potential for badass-itude there. At least his in-suit voice is okay...
-Thrust's origin story was okay, but I can't get over how he called Mr. Miyagi... Err... I mean Mr "Wright" (lawl) "dude". Who does that?
-Drew... What the hell is he doing this episode? Complaining! Complaining about how Camo blew his cover! He didn't seem very upset at the time... Speaking of which...
-Wasn't Thrust freaked over Camo being "disintegrated"? Then at the beginning of this episode he's talking about the rush he gets from being a Rider! That guy (Or should that be "Gai"?) gets over his fear of mortality quickly.
-They play the super-strong minion grunt (Gelnewt) off like they are all that strong. They could have easily covered that up with a line from Kit saying "This one is stronger than the others" or "Its a higher rank!" Not that hard writers...
-Why did Thrust even bother helping to destroy the Mirror Monster if he was only after Dragon Knight? Did something Kit say sink in?
-I'm glad Wing Knight is out of commission. Some time with the titular Rider not being led around by Len or Drew will do us all some good.

Decade 6
-Wow this "Rider Trial" system sounds completely retarded... Since when are the 'best lawyers" the "best fighters"?
-Ha, Verde got pwned by Scissors, man go not luck on either side of the pacific recently.
-Tsukasa was a royal douche in this episode, being against Natsumi until the "prosecutor" pissed him off.
-The "bat for a bat" fight was awesome. These writers really know what the fans want to see... Too bad Kiva-cade couldn't finish the fight on his own. Trick Vent versus Illusion was cool though...
-Kivara is devious...And I'm not just saying that because she's after everyone's blood.
-What was the deal with the chicken? The comic relief of the scene is completely lost if Natsumi's grandpa plans to butcher that thing and eat it... Not that there's anything wrong with that (We all gotta eat)... but it isn't very charming.
-Yusuke's pretty useless here.
-Abyss' suit is blue, but his Monsters are green? I guess there are enough green riders in Ryuki... But couldn't it be more of a greenish blue?
-I'm guessing Knight is after the other Riders' cards so he can disable their powers and put a stop to the Rider Trials... But then why did he lose interest in Decade's cards? Won't he be screwed too if you steal his cards? Or was it just that he realized that Decade wasn't the same kind of Rider as the rest of them?
-Was Momoi supposed to be Femme? I kind of felt that they were implying it...
-What's with the posters everywhere? Lawyers in this world are as famous as wrestlers in ours, except the posters are in law offices and police stations instead of poorly-maintained bathrooms.

Comments on Dragon Knight 11
-"Vent Or Be Vented" was an episode that was highly anticipated after some footage from the particular episode leaked out. Honestly, its not that impressive, but stuff happens. How often can we say that?
-Maya, Lacey and Trent get their big break in this episode when they try to lure out a new Kamen Rider by pretending to act out a damsel in distress being attacked by a monster. I'll admit, the results are fairly funny, but if this is all we get after being promised that these characters would deliver some comic relief for this show, I'll have to call false advertising on that.
-Random mime in LA... I've never seen a mime in LA... I assume it happens, but its still random.
-Torque seems to be betraying Xaviax now. Is it just because he's still hissy about Camo? Drew has the strangest priorities...
-Thrust is all over the map. One second he wants to fight and the next he doesn't. I guess the mixed influence of Xaviax's lies and Kit's stubborn rambling are finally having an effect on the poor guy's psyche.
-I'm glad Wing Knight is still out of the picture because I enjoy DK acting as a free agent, if only for a little while.
-Kit wants to talk, but Len rolls over and possibly pretends to be asleep. Len wakes up and finds Kit sleeping under him wearing his jacket as a blanket. Len hopes they didn't do what he thinks they did. He assures himself that it didn't happen and goes on his merry way as a loner not chained down by any teenage boy seeking a father figure. Kit wakes up and wonders where Len went to without kissing him goodbye. I know "bromances" are hip right now, but these two can be pretty blatantly gay for eachother at times. He-man gay...
-Its now official that the Riders do not need to be looking at a reflective surface or in Ventara when they transform. They can do it anywhere apparently.
-Oh God "Kamen Rider Sting" now... there are just way too many riders running around at the moment. Someone needs to get vented in like, the next episode...

Comments on Decade 07
-Rather than splashing his opponents with a little water like in the last episode, now Abyss' Strike Vent creates a giant shark to fight for him.
-So Knight is hunting Odin? Is it just for the cards or is there something deeper here?
-The chicken makes its return... In the pot? Yusuke thinks so, but Tsukasa shrugs half-heartedly as his response.
-So trench coat man thinks he's saving the worlds from Decade? Doesn't he know they'll be destroyed either way?
-Tsukasa really seems to wish Natsumi was guilty... All that screaming for her in the first episode was all for show then I assume? He just doesn't care about her at all?
-Yusuke seems like the only one whose really interested in justice here. In that way he's a great foil to the titular Rider here who destroys no matter how much good he does.
-Wow, Odin went down easy... But now Ren has the card he was hunting for... Time Vent, huh?
-So Yusuke had an impact on the fight after all, even if he cant fight in the Mirror World? Looks like Tsukasa actually cares about his opinion. Let's see how long that lasts...
-So we're picking up where we left off in the past? Anyone could just hop in the Time Vent?
-Abyss absorbing himself from the past makes me think of that bad movie about the guy who was the "One"... What was that called again?
-Decade always says "This might tickle a bit" and then forces the other Rider in to the most uncomfortable-looking contortionist act I've ever seen in my life. Tickle a bit my @ss...
-So Abyss is the never-before-seen Category King of Hearts, Paradoxa Undead.
-I still don't get the chicken thing.
-Finally, Blade World! Hooray!

The plot of dragon knight is losing me still. I just can't keep up with it either nothing happening, or something stupid is happening.

VENT OR BE VENTED. You think some of the other riders would realize they need to team up.

Well Torque definitely knows it, but it looks like the other Riders are either too caught up in Xaviax's lies to join his little uprising or they already hate him for being a douche.

I finished Kabuto today.

Though I still have to watch GOD SPEED LOVE.

Impressions on the series:

-I'm glad I started with this. I love the KRs, and the plot mostly does drag (plot :yuri)
-The fighting though seemed strange. The Zect troopers, and the worms seemed to get randomly stronger at times.
-END BOSS was predictable, but if you weren't paying attention you would've noticed
-Hyper Kabuto and Gatack weren't that bad really.. The zector talking needed to be in the series.
-Cooking was a major theme in the show, and made for laughs.
-MY FRIEND KAGAMI!!!
-WHERE DID THE PERFECT ZECTOR COME FROM?
- I didn't like you punch hopper but man. What a way to go
-Tendou becomes less of a jerk midway through the show, and his actor can make some funny faces.

Over all I loved it. I need money to buy the figuarts toys now.

Curse Kamen Rider for instilling a desire in its overseas watchers to buy toys not available outside of japan


I totally came up with names for all the Riders in Kabuto if the series was brought over to America à la Dragon Knight. Normally I'd keep it in my head until I can type it up fanfiction form (like I'm planning with my Kiva and Shinkenger adaptations... Shhh), but since I can't ever see myself making it through Kabuto to write anything, I might as well post it here.

Kabuto - Kamen Rider Hercules (I know Kabutomushi are pretty different from Hercules Beetles, but its far better than "Kamen Rider Rhinoceros Beetle" . Plus it works in the beetle motif and someone aspiring to Godhood.)

TheBee - Kamen Rider Vespa (The genus of hornet, not the scooter)

Drake - Kamen Rider Dragoon

Sasword - Kamen Rider Scimitar

Gatack - Kamen Rider Stag (This one needs work I know)

Kick Hopper - Kamen Rider Scourge

Punch Hopper - Kamen Rider Slugger

Dark Kabuto - Dark Hercules I guess. "Heracles" could also work...

Comments on Decade 08
-Like I've said earlier Blade is my favorite Kamen Rider series. Decade has done me no wrong yet so I'll go into this with an open mind. Blade World can be filled with West Side Story-esque singing and dancing gangs and I'll still try to roll with the punches. I'll try to work out my nerdy rage in a constructive manner... Okay... time for Blade World.
-Its funny, the way others were describing this this episode it seemed that all the Riders in this world were chefs the way the ones in Ryuki World were lawyers. I guess I misinterpreted as only Tsukasa is a chef. He works in the cafeteria for Board, the short-lived organization Blade and Garren belonged to in the beginning of KR Blade. Phew, I was worried there for a second wondering how they would work fighting Undead into cooking.
-It seems that Board is very bureaucratic. All sorts of things have to be stamped before the Riders can engage Undead.
-So good to see those suits agin... *Sigh*
-Every employee in Board seems to be be a part of three Suits, Spade, Diamond and Clover. Clearance level and where one is allowed to eat in the cafeteria is all determined by what Rank one has. Aces are the highest and Twos are the lowest. This interesting, but opens so many questions. Why no Hearts? Why is there no Ace of Clovers? Why is Tsukasa only a Two when he's the Head chef?
-"Well I better start cooking. I am a chef after all." Oh god, I hope Tsukasa doesn't make a lot of chef-related puns. If he says "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."... *Shudder*
-"How do you want it cooked? Rare? Medium? Or... well done?" Oh no... Its worse than I imagined...
-I guess the rules of Blade World not applying to him means Tsukasa can destroy Undead. So much for invincible monsters that have to be sealed.
-"Super Royale Ace" ... Tsukasa is developping a Tendou Complex.
-Man, Board is like a real company the way the only care about profit. I guess Tsukasa was right to call the Blade World Riders salarymen.
-Looks like if Riders bend the rules they get demoted. Strangely, it seems that Tsukasa got promoted for the same thing that got Kazuma demoted.
-I expected Paradoxa to be... pinker.
-Wow, I didn't expect to see Blade and Garren fighting.
-Chalice is... legendary?
-Todoroki in Blade World? I guess that makes about as much sense as the Hoppers in Kuuga World and Kaixa in Kiva World.

-How could you not love an athsmatic alien hunter who also happens to be a hispanic marine? Wait... what?

Saw the newest episode.

This just in: Everyone. Is. Stupid.

Kit and wing knight are going to get betrayed.

Torque hasn't figured out to stay away from mirrors.

And Kit sucks at fighting. I mean REALLY sucks.

Kind of hard to get away from mirrors considering what constitutes as a mirror in this show. That's pretty much anything with a reflection that's large enough to fit through.

Kit was actually pretty badass in this episode, he beat Torque really easily. Although this is just more confirmation that Torque is fail. He has that giant fucking robot with weapons out the wazoo and the best he can do is vent Camo.

I wish they would keep their "Vents" straight. Launch Vent is now Shoot Vent. Didn't we already have a Shoot Vent?

Kit trusts Sting way too fast. Another ridiculously strong Gelnewt with no explanation.

Drew's backstory as the world's worst scam artist actually made me laugh a little, especially the Gelnewt limo driver.

So two vents.

And Kit and knight DIDN'T get betrayed. I was the shocked.

Now that cobra kamen rider (I'm bad with names) is awesome. Summons snakes that spit acid and doesn't take scams.

Meanwhile I think 555 might be the next KR series I watch. I'm thinking about Den-O or finishing kiva though.

They only show everyone's names at the beginning of every episode I can practically name them all off the top of my head by now. Dragon Knight, Wing Knight, Incisor, Torque, Camo, Thrust, Sting, Strike, Spear, Axe, Onyx and Siren. Who am I forgetting now...? Oh yeah Wrath. Heck most of their first appearance episodes are named after them. Sure, we haven't had an episode called "Kamen Rider Strike" yet... But its coming.

Strike is only awesome because Ohja was awesome. For some reason the creators thought they could take the most lone-wolf, psychotic, homicidal, badass Rider from Ryuki and turn him into Xaviax's henchman. Henchmen cannot be badass! Especially not while saying things like "It will be done my Master." the only way to make that cool is if he were decked out in butler attire and whipping out dual swords and killing everyone in sight. Psychotic = Awesome Rider. Loyalty = Pansy Rider. We have enough pansy Riders in this show.

And how would the ambiguously gay duo get betrayed? The only other Rider they trust is Sting and he's barely had enough time to get acclimated much less betray anyone (although anyone who copies another person's weapons is certainly a bit duplicitous so I wont completely count that possibility out). There's no way Kit would trust Torque again after what he did, even Kit isn't that dumb.

Torque's venting was definitely a surprise, but since I've read ahead in the spoilers I know that the Advent Void wants to keep him around about as much as I do. There's more Zolda footage to be abused!


Faiz is an okay series, another one I like looking at, but can't watch all the way through. The main character is a hair-stylist for chrissakes. What do I care about that? If you ask me, watch the series you want to and then move on to the sparknotes--Err, I mean Decade, you'll be happier for it.

The Dragon Knight clip show was surprisingly watchable despite my low expectations. Although, Len should never smile... Mullins is just not a good enough actor to pull off a "happy" Len. I mean, if the Wang brothers knew from the beginning that Len would eventually be showing more than one emotion at a time, why would they cast a stuntman?

Oh well, no new episodes for a while. This is good since it will mean that there will still be plenty of new episodes once the toyline is launched in July. The toyline is really what this show needs to get its name out there and get on kids' radar. As much as I complain about this show, I really do want it to succeed...
