Alright I wrote this earlier today... I didn't say mouse I said mousey...:

Mice

Mice make good pets and are not very demanding... they cost little money and are easy to entertain.

Food & Water

Mice eat things like apple peices, grains, seeds, linseed, oats, lentils, fresh fruits & vegetables, some times carrots, and grey sunflower seeds from time to time... they're fattening... and cheese is not an ideal treat because it can cause dietary upsets.

The first time a mouse is given a new kind of food they might not eat lots of it for the first two days or so. A slow change in diet is recommended to prevent any dietary problems. If the mousey gets no ill effects it should eat more of that food in the next few days.

When refilling the water you should use filtered water because mice are more likely to get cancer in their old age if they drink tap water. Anyway, the mouses water should be refilled everyday and can be put in a bowl or a speicial tube with a nozzle thing. The bowl is not as good as the nozzle thing because the bowl can get knocked over and bedding can get in it. But the nozzle thingy can get bedding in it... some how....

Always give the mousey fresh food and water. Mice like yellow dandalion heads and fresh grass. But any food brought from outside has to be cleaned thoroughly and checked for pesticides.

Mice need to eat hard foods so their teeth don't get too long. Grains, seeds and stuff like that is a good idea. Some favorites are lentils, linseed, oats and popping corn. Mice should eats fresh fruits and vegetables like apples and carrots. Mice love grey sunflower seeds but shouldn't be given too many because they are fattening... Dry oatmeal and parakeet seeds are also good.

Handling

Do not pick up a mousey by the TIP of their tail or you might pull their skin off. You can breifly pick up a mouse by the BASE of the tail or by the scruff of the neck if you can't find a more gentle place... also you can cup them up in your hand. But for skittish mice you should pick them up my the BASE of their tail so they don't jump out of your hand. If the mousey squeeks then it hurts. Mice might bite you if they're scared so they should be handled at a young age...

When you first get a mousey you should let it get used to its cage. When it calms down and seems used to its cage you should spend more time with it and talk to it. Mice get used to their owners fast... If you get your mousey to eat out of your hand then you know it's happy and relaxed.

Little kids who don't know how to pick up a mousey right shouldn't try... Mouseys are really quick and if they're startled they will jump out of your hand before you know what's happening.

Health & Stuff

A mouseys teeth always grow so you should give them some hard food and chew toys to make sure they don't grow to alarming sizes...
