Calvin's chest rises rythmically underneath the ever-so-comfortable blankets on his bed. Already past 11 o'clock, Calvin completely blew off his alarm clock, favoring to remain asleep. However, this absent-minded youth completely forgot that today was the day that he and Torchic would set off to pursue their goal. To capture, or at least record data onto his PokeDex on every Pokemon in the world. Fighting through gyms, defeating others, and ultimately raising his fame would only be steps on his way to the top. In his mind, Calvin believed that he could complete this task no problem. But with his lack of responsibility, things were already looking bad.
Trotting into his room came Torchic with a curious look sported on it's face. Leaping up onto his stomach, the lightweight pokemon cocked it's head for a moment, ruffling his feathers slightly. The curious pokemon then sent a peck down, connecting with Calvin's forehead. Nothing. The lazy youth continued to sleep. Pecking his forehead again, Torchic frowned in frustration at it's futile attempts. Leaning in close to Calvin's ear, Torchic let out an ear piercing growl, immediately jostling Calvin from his sleep...and directly onto the floor.
Scowling, he rubbed his head and looked around for the obvious perpatrator. "Torchic..." he warned, still half asleep. Seeing the creature simply standing on his bed, Calvin shook his head in exasperation. Looking over at the clock, his eyes snapped open. "ELEVEN?!" he shouted, all weariness leaving his body in an instant. Frantically searching around, Calvin grabbed his clothes and hopped in a five minute shower. Slipping the rather large black T-shirt with the Celtic Trinity Knot design on it's front, he latched on the loose fitting black jean shorts onto his thin frame with an average belt. His fiery red hair still a wreck, Cal grabbed his messenger bag, which would act as his supply pack, and hurridly shoved his assortment of items within it. Calling to Torchic, he and his compainion flew down the stairs. "Later mom! I'll keep in touch!" he said and sped out the door. His mother sighed, smiling weakly. "And there he goes again..." she muttered.
Quickly heading out of town with a few quick, curt good-bye's to his lifelong neighbors and friends, he dashed out onto the open road, his Torchic beside him...

A ralts(Jolly, lvl 5, Trace) wanders out across the road and looks curiously at you and your torchic. It than waltz up to the both of you, smiling.
