Words cannot express my love for this movie. so. so good. So good. Just... damn, so good.

That movie was indeed glorious. My favorite scene was the one with angel Leliel and the 3 Evas fighting together. Fucking epic.

My favorite scene was almost purely due to my buddy's commentary.

It was glorious.


But man, the fights were just all amazing. And between them, especially the aquarium, and how much global info of the world is shown. its just. man thats cool.



Also the whole bit with Rei in the climax. I didn't expect that at all. It just went "FUCK YOU YOU THINK YOU KNOW SHIT CUZ YOU WATCHED THE SERIES!? YOU DONT KNOW FUCK, YOU DICKWAD"

and then i was happy.

You know, a lot of fans are seriously speculating that the current movie series are actually sequels/take place after the anime series. They even made charts and tables comparing and stuff to prove it. I don't have the images on my computer, but I'll try to find it.

Plausible? Maybe. I'd still prefer to just think of it as a remake though, with some changes to make things better.

I've always thought of it as a possibility, doubly so after Kourarurururur whatever talks as though Shinji's done this all before. And I wouldnt be surprised if it is.


But if it is a second iteration of a cycle it couldnt be straight from End of Eva, since that ends with Shinji and Asuka together on the beach, apparently fully aware of everything. It would take a hell of a plot device to make it loop smoothly from that. Unless they just re-write that that final bit never happened and rejecting instrumentality just rebooted it again.



I'd be okay with it though, and if it is they'll come up with something decent. This whole new version seems a lot more focused and clear than the series ever was, so I imagine they could come up with something to loop it.




#3 still doesnt even have a release date in Japan yet though (for THEATERS!) so it pains me to think of how long of a wait it'll be for the english version to get over here. And I need that english version. I watched the first in both japanese and english and its just soooo much better to listen to talking instead of having to read everything. And i think it'd of killed the mood for me in the second movie, all the screaming and anger... Japanese cant sound harsh and angry. it just cant. All the vowel endings.

Yeah the fact that I have to wait forever for the third movie sucks. It's gonna come out in theatres, then in bluray next. I refuse to watch the theatrical release, since the bluray (at least with 2.22) is much better.

Not that I even CAN watch the theatrical release anyway...

Well, that Eva that I purchased legally from a store and/or online only had Japanese audio. Eva's dub is actually good, right? So fuck that.

Finally got around to watching Puella Magi Madoka Magica, first episode. The second one was still being mailed to my mailbox by a mailman, so rather than wait I went up and looked up as many critical spoilers as I could.

Man, I thought Mami would get more air time then tha- oh wait, I guess she comes back later?

(EDIT: Son of a bitch I still haven't even watched Episode 3 of Madoka, but goddamn this is awesome.

(Spoiler alert) That's actually one of the main characters after she turns into a monster (Witch), and it's just... the Witch draws so much from her character. I mean, since I haven't watched it my knowledge isn't complete or anything, but... she was, like, a knightly, goody-goody protector kind of character (hence the plate armor)... kind of a tomboy, but she used the wish she got when you become a magical girl to fix this violinist classmate's arm (music and the shadow players), who I assume she had some kind of crush on or something (that giant shadow), and all the girly/cute shit like the little bow and the mermaid thing ("be girly for violinguy"? "not totally comfortable with being a tomboy"?)...

Then there's the watercolor/papercutout shadowmen and the actual witch. I remember reading someplace that that was kinda like Cthulhu-style "Alien Geometry" - 2D in a 3D universe, like. That's really damn cool, and way more mindfucky than "This square has FIVE SIDES OH MY GOD aaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA")

Yeah I don't think I have ever watched a series of anime in my entire life out of my own will. OH wait, I watched this one once because I was so bored, I forgot what it was called, something to do with this short chick and how she's a wolf cub or whatever and she sounds angry all the time.... But anyway I have decided to give anime a go and I'm currently DLing K-On! Saw Des mentioned it somewhere :3 please let not this be shit and make me be turned off by anime

Fucking christ.

It's not the first thing I'd recommend to a person hoping to get into anime. K-ON is one of those titles where you either love it or hate it. There's a massive fanbase for K-ON, but there's also a crap-ton of haters as well.. so it's kind of a risky one to start with.

Loving it I hope.

My all time favorite is Michiko to Hatchin. I noticed it actually isn't that popular, but it was sooo good and action packed and so original. Totally unlike any other anime. Second favorite is Samurai Champloo.
