Console: SNES
Genre: SRPG
Graphics: 10
Bahamut Lagoon's graphics are no less than what you would expect from an old Squaresoft title: Awesome. The characters are well designed and the animation has a certain "flow" to it. The affects are also impressive, especially considering it was never sent to the states. I think this was probably a bad move on Square's part...considering what graphic-whores the American consumers tend to be.
Sound: 5
The sound is done well, but nothing extraordinary. It's what you'd expect from a Square title, and nothing more.
Gameplay: 10
Bahamut Lagoon has, arguably, the best gameplay on the SNES. It's hard to summarize, so I'll just say that there are all sorts of things to consider. Equipment, skills, your dragons...just so much.
Story: 8
The story is well written, from what I can tell. I have had to use a patch for the translation so I can't tell if it is completely accurate, but I trust Dejap to do a good job on their translations.
Overall: 8
A great game with hours of gameplay. It is well worth the illegal means of which you would need to aquire it. As a matter of fact I'm going to go start a new file now.
