Title: Alien Swarm
Description: Hum hum hum

Has anyone else been thoroughly surprised by this little game? I wouldn't be surprised if Valve released new content that actually cost something, but still. It's a solid game in my opinion, and I would probably be willing to spend some money on some new content.

Yeah, the game's totally rockin, especially for free! (as long as you own another source game). Its too bad there's only one campaign so far but its still challenging enough.

Speaking of, i heard when you get to or past level 21 you lose all your equipment and you get a 'promotion'. Which sounds really lame.

I soaked 7 facehuggers like a BOSS

Also I want more playtime.

nerkel - July 22, 2010 09:17 PM (GMT)
It was fun, but it was really short ):

Also, I saw a video of someone who made a custom map for Alien Swarm. The map? The first level of Pokemon Red, in Pallet Town.

You can play the game in first person by using some console commands.

Just hit 22 today and no such thing happened, which is very good. I'd be pissed if I lost everything.

wonder if they patched it from people being pissed lol

Has anyone figured out the end to the last level? I get to the launchpad and wait for the timer when suddenly fission mail.

Blue Farce - July 24, 2010 02:14 AM (GMT)
Dude, you have to jump on the ship that appears. You know, like the guy is yelling, and how you do in that earlier mission to cross that gap.

Zeratanus - July 24, 2010 04:49 AM (GMT)
Apparently the level reset is 28, not 21 like i thought. Have fun Springs =P

but yeah, you have to jump onto the ship.

There's a ship? All I saw was a launchpad and a crapload of aliens trying to mutilate my balls.

Eh, I just beat the campaign on hard with my friends, I'm not sure if I'm up to playing it again....unless they add more campaign or incentive for me to return. Insane mode doesn't do it for me.

it lands on the right of the landing pad, you walk on top of it like you do in the earlier mission.

I enjoy insane. it's much harder than hard, and the parasites really make things challenging. My friends and I haven't beaten the whole campaign yet, but we've cleared the first three missions.

Also, dude. They released the SDK as soon as they released the game. That means lots of community maps. There's your incentive right there. :P
