Title: Toonami is Dead
Description: D':

My god.. i just turned on the TV after getting back from dinner and Samurai Jack was on Toonami (which surprised me, i thought it just had shitty shows these days), and I enjoyed it... then when it ended... i saw... the "final shutdown sequence"..

Toonami has been canceled D':

Sure I hated its newest incarnation and the shows it had, but good god, Toonami DEFINED a lot of my childhood, introducing me to DBZ back in the day and setting me on the path to being an artist... and now its officially gone... dead... game over....

... it hurts a bit :\

Its just kinda weird and a bit symbolic that after never watching the new version I'd catch the very last episode ever aired...

the last iteration may have been a horrid bastardization, but damn... toonami you will be missed :ycry:

Wow... I didn't even realize it was still going... I thought they'd already kinda changed it to that "Miguzi" block or whatever... unless that was technically still Toonami...

either way... knowing that it's officially gone is kinda overwhelming...

Same here, Z... Toonami really got me into a lot of shows that helped shape my approach to art... I won't lie; I'll even list Sailor Moon as one of those early inspirations...

ah, nostalgia...
I'd missed oldschool Toonami for a long time, but I guess I can kinda say I'll miss it all in general now... Fare thee well, Tom (and/or whatever else was acting as running mascot up till the end...)

Toonami version 4 was essentially unrecognizable and was a horrid bastardization, but was still toonami. it was still (kinda) Tom (at least in voice). There was still hope that someday it would crawl out of its Naruto-infested shithole and become a great block again but... :(

I know how you feel man, the morning cartoon program I grew up with here was replaced a while ago, it SICKENED me.

holy jesus... although it didn't introduce me to DBZ, and least Toonami was what continued the series in America.. and also introduced tons of great anime to me.

wow.. So Tom is voiced by the VA that does Spike on Cowboy Bebop, and he says "Bang." right at the end of the final broadcast.. how fucking awesome..

I'm honestly surprised that Steven Blum was still doing Tom's Voice.

I'll miss Toonami, so much...I loved it. It's what got me hooked on DBZ. Granted, like it's already been said, the latest version of it was a bastardized version of the original, but atleast it was still there. I didn't even know it was being canceled. That really sucks...a lot.

I just watched it on YouTube and I can already feel the tears starting to well up. Toonami for me was Tenchi Muyo, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Outlaw Star. I was never a DBZ fan >_<;;; I actually went out of my way to stop watching Toonami when they replaced the first version of Tom. I always thought Tom was the coolest thing ever, and then they gave him a stupid cartoony face and I felt like an eight year old boy for watching their programming, so I stopped. I hope somewhere along the line they bring it back, but unless something HUGE happens and anime suddenly rises from the grave and becomes the shit again, then it'll never happen...

also - rossi, the cartoony version in the end was version 4 :P

Version 1 was from the image i posted - the fat little guy. His feet couldnt reach the end of the chair.

version 2 was sleeker and blue, and came after the Invader series. His feet didnt reach the floor, but he sat normally.

Version 3 came sometime later and he was much taller, actually fitting in his chair, and looked a bit like a power ranger.

Fanedited final broadcast to be from Tom V2
