Well, this project is kind of interesting if not for itself, but how it's changed over time.

'twas originally going to be a pokemon/megaten ripoff, basically. Then it was going to be a Castelvania-ish platformer. Now, since I've not been able to do it as a platformer (sound issues with the program I was using and lack of interest spawned from that issue...) I've decided to do something...different with it.

I've recently started working with flash, as some know, and I've really started to flesh out this story. I've had a lot of extra time to draw and think lately, so I've been able to pump out a lot character concepts and whatnot. (Huzzah for that extra 1.5hrs in school, and teachers not really caring!)

So, I've got it down to two ideas.

The first, admittedly more ambitious and less likely to come out well...
Is to make a flash animated series of it. I've got a pretty good idea of what I'm doing in flash, so it can't be too difficult, right? ^^;
I'm really hoping I can stick with this one, because I'm really liking how Novum Orbis is developing.

The second is my backup plan...

Yeah, not as interesting, but probably easier and less time consuming, right?

Anyway...on to the proof that I have more free time:

Raki
Raki has been heavily redesigned. He no longer has horns, no tail, and his outfit has been drastically altered. Instead of the bondage pants and plethora of inverted crosses I decided to go with something more subtle. This design should also be a lot easier to animate, I would think.

I never did get around to designing her before. I like the hair and youthful look of the first design, but damn it if that staff isn't too big. XP The second is older and really kinda bleh...Idunno...I think I'm going to work on her familiar tomorrow.

Now, for the "good guys"

The pope
Well, he's the pope. Head of the Catholic church, lives in the Vatican, all that good stuff.

Raphael
One of the archangels. If I'm not mistaken Raphael is associated with healing and the like, hence the censer. Of the three (7 if you're Jewish or something) archangels Raphael is more the wimpy healer type. He's not much of a fighter, but is capable of healing the gravest of wounds.

Michael
"El's likeness," Michael, is the field commander of the angelic armies, a powerful foe to any demon and a great ally to the holy. The markings on his flesh are a mixture of tribal tattoos and the wounds befallen Jesus...it's symbolic or something. Idunno...they look cool, anyway. XP

Gabriel
Supposedly the most powerful or most important of the three. He is the archangel who annunciated unto Mary of her pregnancy and whatnot. "Blah, blah, name him Jesus, blah, blah..." I've also read that he's associated with death, so...I gave him a scythe. Scythes are cool. All sharp and slice-ing-y...anyway, he'll be important. ^^

Hunter
Haven't named him yet, but he's a demon hunter employed by the Catholic church to hunt down Raki to prevent a certain prophecy from unfolding. I'm yet to really develop his character, but I'm thinking of giving him a secular rival...should be interesting, right?

So, yeah...that's what I've been doing at school, lately. ^^;

EDIT: Oh! If I do get around to animating this...I was thinking of doing it as completely as possible, intro and everything. If you can think of a song that would be fitting, that'd be awesome. ^^
