Description: STAB!

Necro_EX - November 29, 2007 01:53 AM (GMT)
Well, I've recently come into enough motivation and time to draw regularly again. ^^

You'll probably be seeing a lot more COD concept stuff from me in the near future because I should be able to pump these out regularly and I have plenty to draw.

Oh, here's a link to the map, so you know what I'm talking about on some things.
Map

Anyway, on to the arts. ^^

A warrior from the hoarfrost isles. I talked it over with Riken and we're planning to divide the human race 9think TES) and also adding a frost/snow/ice elf race for the northern reaches of the world. This particularly drawing is just a random warrior from the isles wearing the most common armor from the area, fur and studded leather.

These next two are for a series of images I've been planning for a while, to depict each class.

user posted image
This is the dancer class. They're basically a support class, but they are also as swift and dexterous as any thief.

user posted image
The knight class should be pretty obvious. They're the jack-of-all-trades for the melee classes. They're capable of being proficient with any armor and just about any weapon.

So, yeah...C&C always welcome and appreciated. ^^

Zeratanus - November 29, 2007 03:52 AM (GMT)
nice pics man :D I see a definite improvement in your skill and style :yhappy: keep it up!

Necro_EX - November 29, 2007 09:50 PM (GMT)
Thanks. ^^

I seem to be short on good erasers, though. D:

I'm definitely going to keep it up. ^^

tride - November 29, 2007 10:22 PM (GMT)
I like what your doing here man, keep it up!!

Necro_EX - November 29, 2007 11:29 PM (GMT)
Oh, you know I will. ^^

I've got a pretty big plate to clean, too.

I still have about 20 classes, all 10+ races (we're splitting the humans and adding some more elven races (snow/frost and sand/desert for now) and whatnot, cross-sections of each society, the gods (again, but I plan to do all of them this time), the bestiary, etc, etc...

The cross-sections will be the ones that will take longer to do, I think. That's every caste in the society, cultural things, forms of religion, foods, architecture, weapons/armor, technologies, etc, etc...

So, yeah...I have plenty to do. ^^

Shinigami Nabeshin - November 30, 2007 09:38 AM (GMT)
pretty cool setup you have so far... like the map ;) its a good map

kry1 - December 2, 2007 01:03 PM (GMT)
YOUR STYLE SEEMS TO BE MORE REFINED NOW :okay: (oops, caps, sorry)

keep it up, man :D

Necro_EX - December 6, 2007 02:42 AM (GMT)
Shin - Riken did the map, really. I just ran it through PS to get the lines and whatnot. Butchyeah, I like the map. I think we'll have to space things out a bit more...it lacks oceans.

Kry - Thanks. ^^ I try.

Yeah, so...I'll have some more to put up sometime soon. ^^

Necro_EX - December 6, 2007 09:47 PM (GMT)
New one. ^^
Told you guys I'd post something. XP

Because I really didn't care much for the old knight one. ^^

Emak - December 7, 2007 12:11 AM (GMT)
nice :okay:
chain link clothes = good.

Necro_EX - December 7, 2007 02:06 AM (GMT)
I think you've got that wrong.
Chain/scale mail = impossible to CG.

Thanks, though. ^^

Emak - December 7, 2007 07:04 PM (GMT)
sheeeooot...
Boy, just takes a patience is all...

Necro_EX - December 7, 2007 08:52 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I know. ^^;
Riken's been working on CGing these, anyway.

I do like how chain and scale mail looks, too. ^^

I'm currently finishing up an auralmancer/sonarmancer (Which sounds better? I'm thinking auralmancer.) that I started today at school. I should be able to have it finished by the end of the day...assuming I don't get too distracted.

Hmm, Sonarmancer sounds better

'tis one of the classes for COD. They're a magic-user class that focuses on using magic to manipulate sound waves.

Their magic will range from common spells such as silence/mute to more creative things like sound dampening (stealth), sound pulses (attacks), etc...

Necro_EX - December 12, 2007 01:39 AM (GMT)
Two new pictures. ^^
One of which being the one I said I'd post a few days ago...>.>

This one was done in Pre-Cal...
You can tell I was so enthralled in the lesson at the time.

user posted image
And this is the auralmancer/sonarmancer (sonarmage?).
His weapon is a special rod designed to act as a tuning instrument, an amplifier for his sound based magic. You can't see it, but he's also forming a highly compressed sound in his open hand...that'll have to be CGed in when I get around to it or if Riken does it or something.

Shinigami Nabeshin - December 22, 2007 08:36 AM (GMT)
sonarmancer? thats a new concept ive never heard of =D points for origonality! his leg looks bent a little too far back tho

kry1 - December 22, 2007 12:36 PM (GMT)
hands look cool, man.. :okay:

your drawing is getting neater =D

Necro_EX - December 22, 2007 06:01 PM (GMT)
Shin - Thanks. ^^

You're right, though...his leg is bent a little much, isn't it?

Kry - Thanks, I've been trying on the hands, lately. ^

'tis Des, yo.
All greetings-y.
Idunno...just felt like drawing him for some reason. There was going to be a ban hammer, but yeah...didn't go that way, I guess. XP

Drew this in Government CP today, finished it up a bit in physics, though.
Yeah...my school drawings are generally more violent, aren't they? I mean, there's no real violence in this one, but it's implied.

Oh, the subtlety.

Flats for that gunner picture. ^^

Also, something I did today...err...yesterday in government and physics.

Feet are screwed up, but yeah...XP

So, yeah...comments and critiques always appreciated. ^^

Riken - January 13, 2008 07:41 PM (GMT)
Haha, yep...definitely looks like a blood splatter. Nice work.

Violence and School...sort of synonymous, eh? At least with you...

spoony-G - January 13, 2008 09:47 PM (GMT)
Neat sketches! For the 2nd one though, the perspective looks a little off w/ the legs, it looks really cool though!

Necro_EX - January 14, 2008 01:21 AM (GMT)
Spoony - Yeah, the perspective is definitely off. XP
Ah, practice and all that rot, right? ^^

Riken - Yeah, school just makes me think violent things. XD

LittleRedRodeo - January 17, 2008 01:33 AM (GMT)
Haha, that last sketch had me ROFLin' That's what he gets for not paying on time XD
I'll have to agree that the angle of the legs isn't working. You'll probably want to redraw the legs at a higher angle, like... you see where his knees are now? You'll want to redraw his feet at least 1.5x the size they are now at that level.

Good job on these sketches. You're good at character designing ^^

Necro_EX - January 17, 2008 02:15 AM (GMT)
Aww...thanks! ^^
That's mostly what I'll probably be doing later in life, so it's good to know at least someone thinks I'm good at it. ^^

I'm too lazy to redraw it. XP
Actually, I might, just because I really want to CG that one. ^^

Oh, I have something new to post, but I'll do so later, I have other stuff to do right now, so probably tomorrow.

Heh...forgot to get around to posting it. ^^;

Butchyeah, 'tis an assassin killing a priest (of the goddess of life) for some reason. I'll probably add a wall when I get around to CGing it.

kry1 - January 21, 2008 03:42 PM (GMT)
while the drawing is good, it lacks of "epic-ness".

you can make the priest's body bow/curved down cos he's in pain. you know.. when you're hurt, your body automatically reacts that way. no one keeps standing straight when stabbed.

just my two cents :P

Necro_EX - January 21, 2008 08:49 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I suppose I could do that. ^^
I'm going to have him pinned to a wall...would he still be bent forward?

Shinigami Nabeshin - January 21, 2008 09:20 PM (GMT)
its a good drawing, but it lacks epic..

perspective makes things epic! you should study some, it really helps your drawings ^^

LittleRedRodeo - January 23, 2008 12:35 AM (GMT)
Everyone already said to add "epic" to that pic, so I'll take whatever's left >: Aside from having his body thrown back by the force of the stab, you could also make his expression more extreme. His mouth open in shock is fine the way it is. What would make it more believable is if his eyes were open. When our eyes clothes when we're in pain like that, it's because that's our flinch reaction. This dude didn't have time to flinch. He's still reeling from the shock of the POWER!STAB (which, by the way, looks totally awesome).
The perspective on this one isn't bad either. The stabbing dude could also add some epic. His body could be lower to the ground, knees more at an angle, in a sort of "crouching" pose.

I like the clothing design, especially the assassin's gloves :)

Necro_EX - January 23, 2008 03:31 AM (GMT)
Well, I suspect I'll have plenty of time to draw in class tomorrow, so I should be able to redo this, with actual epic baked right in.

Hopefully.
