The PSP is like a cheap pocket knife: It can do a lot, but the blade (games) are poor.
The DS is like a machete. Screw the features, this sucker's just a huge blade! |

Pretty much, but as Swiis Army Knives go, the PSP is a nice one. If it was cheaper, it'd be nicer. As it is, you're better off with an MP3 player, DVD player and DS separately. They all do their jobs better anyways.

feh. music movies and memory on the card doesn't really attract me to the psp it's just some guys excuse for the bad games if you buy these i might imagine it's for the game and the ds is all about the games not the features, not to mention you can personalize your ds not just have it on a memory stick.

I've heard that PSP's break really easy, too.
It's a piece of complicated crap; like an expensive brick or something. |

Wouldn't mind taking one and throwing it off a building and watching it crash. Then again, I also want to do that to a DS, PC, boom box, lamp, imported Italian door, super ball, watermelon and Pamela Anderson's left breast.

Ha ha!
true, but the DS survived falling down stairs. The PSP wouldn't, that's for sure. |

In my opinion, other than the price, the psp is great. I have no porblem with the game selection (Games like GTA, Wiepout, ATV Offroad Fury, etc. are fun). Although the original memory stick is only 32 mb, it does sold quite a few game saves, a few video clips, a song or two, and tons of pics. And for 15 extra bucks, you can get a software package with a usb connector to transfer media from your computer which works great for me so far. Also, possibly my favorite feature of all, internet access! With a wireless router and dsl, internet access is very fast with a psp, and once you bookmark all of you favorite sites and learn all of the tricks to type on-screen extra fast, surfing is suprisingly easy and quick. The browser is great and is even compatible with javascript. The only thing it can't do is play flash files, but rumour has it that the next free firmware release will allow you to view flash. When using a good pair of headphones, the sound is spectacular. The graphics are great. If you spend about an extra 100 bucks, you can buy a 1 gb memory stick which holds all the media in the world, and with the mp4 format, files are shrunk very tiny, so you can hold more than what 1 gb would be on your computer, and the quality is still identical to the original. (hours of high quality movies music and photos all in one.) The battery usually lasts over 3-4 hours for me depending on what you are doing, and charges in under 2 hours. A battery expansion is available, and abttery life can apparently be tripled to up to 9 hours depending on what battery you buy. The screen is large, and everything loads fast. The only thing I see that is missing is a lower price tag, but it was still worth the purchase.
