It had been a hectic day. Tim had spent some time in the morning training with Alix. The little telepath girl had quite a bit of power for a student, Tim had even battled competing with her, and he was apparently omega-level. Although he was a student too, he wasn't too sure if being omega-level would change that. Being an x-man was about more than being powerful, it was about using one's powers effectively in a team. There were no one man teams in the x-men, although Mr. Wolverine sometimes went all one man, he was still part of a team.

These were the things Tim considered as he surfed the net, one of his favourite things to do. There was a wealth of information on the net, if you knew where to look. As well as that, there were tons of fun things to do. Tim enjoyed the many role-play forums on the net, but good RPers were hard to find, so the search for such people took up alot of Tim's time surfing.

He had found one good site that seemed to be doing well. The story was really interesting and Tim was pretty keen to join in. He had created a really interesting character, now all he had to do was wait for his character to be accepted. This proved to be a problem though, 'cause the administrator of the site had to accept him and had had not been around for a while. It was quite frustrating, Tim just hoped Admin was okay.

It was quite late and Tim suddenly felt lonely. Turning from the pc, he scanned the room to see if anyone else was there.

After a long day of doing nothing interesting, Kat felt drawn to checking her e-mail. Perhaps an e-mail from her father might brighten her spirits a little. She walked into the computer lab and settled down to one of the nearest computers. She logged on and immediately opened the windows to her favourite sites, one of which was a role play board that had been recommended to her by Tim. The adminiostrator still hadn't returned though and neither Kat's character, nor Tim's had been accepted. This didn't worry her though, she guessed the admin must be busy and simply carried on doing other things to keep her busy.

There was no e-mail from her father and Kat was a little put out, but didn't let it bother her too much. He was, no doubt, also busy and she knew how demanding his career was. She knew he would contact her when he had a free moment.

On the other hand, she no longer felt like surfing the web and wondered what other thrilling activity could possibly pass the time. It was hard to be free she felt and would much rather be working many a time, but knew that this was probably just a result of her mood. It was now, when she'd logged off that she noticed that there was someone else in the computer lab. She looked over the machines and saw Tim sitting by his own computer, looking around the room. She smiled, picked up her things and walked over to him.

"You don't possibly know anything that could distract a girl do you?"

Tim smiled when he saw Kat. She was pretty cool, always fun to be with. Full of mischief. She had a pretty smile too. It was also common knowledge that South African girls were the prettiest and the funnest. She smiled her prettiest smile as she stood in front of him.

"You don't possibly know anything that could distract a girl do you?"

Tim thought about this for a second, her question was very interesting, taking a sip of his coffee. "I've been told that I'm quite distracting..."

He looked into his cup. Empty. He turned to the desk, and softly poured some more from his interestingly full flask. "You want?" he asked Kat.

Tim thought about this for a second, her question was very interesting, taking a sip of his coffee. "I've been told that I'm quite distracting..."

Kat raised an eyebrow. Was Tim hitting on her? She wondered if she'd taken the comment in the wrong way, but dismissed that thought immediately. She smirked, "I was thinking of something a little less likely to get me killed by a certain redhead."

He poured some coffee from his flask into his now-empty mug. She wondered if he should be drinking coffee after the last experience. It seemed a little dangerous, but the room seemed to be the right way up, so Kat didn't worry. She looked around the room, a little distracted. She wondered again if Tim was hitting on her. He was quite attractive... She'd admitted it before, but he'd never seemed interested in her. So, she'd accepted it and focussed on other things. She'd never thought of him in that way again, he was a great friend and...

He looked into his cup. Empty. He turned to the desk, and softly poured some more from his interestingly full flask. "You want?" he asked Kat.

Kat spun her head back round to look at him, had he just said what she thought he'd just said? She was shocked. He was so... nonchalant! People didn't just ask that type of question off hand, there were rules to be followed, laws of socialisation. She was almost scandalised. "Did she want?" what was this, a casual chat?! She looked at him her mouth a little open, "Excuse me?" She said trying to calm her nerves.

OOC: Ha ha, I love misunderstandings.... biggrin.gif

She smirked, "I was thinking of something a little less likely to get me killed by a certain redhead."

"The certain redhead has absolutely nothing to worry about. I'm NOT on the market, as it were." Tim almost laughed at Kat, but he stopped after he considered how offended she would be about it. Thanks to the coffee he succesfully avoided having his head beaten in.

"Excuse me?"

It took a great deal of self control for Tim to hold back the laughter, but he still gave a wide grin as he shook the flask of coffee underneath Kat's nose. Did she think he was that forward? Gosh! Even if he was interested, he would never! "The drink of life. Have some, maybe your wits will catch up and we can avoid much embarassment."

OOC: I don't. tongue.gif

"The certain redhead has absolutely nothing to worry about. I'm NOT on the market, as it were."

Kat was now very confused... Was he hitting on her or not. She suddenly realised he must have been speaking candidly and she felt embarrassment begin to well up inside of her. She tried not to let it show, and tried desperately to come up with a witty response. Her wit failed her. Her wit never failed her, what was up with that. She smiled and shut her mouth becoming a little distracted.

Suddenly Tim made a camment that took her by surprise and she responded almost violently, but that too only led to embarrassment. She softly asked him to repeat himself. He immediately noted her confusion and set about correcting her interestingly enough.

"The drink of life. Have some, maybe your wits will catch up and we can avoid much embarassment."

"Oh," said Kat in a particularly non-eloquent kind of way. She chuckled as if she knew all along what he'd been talking about and she faded into a resigned, "yeah..."

She then tried to save her floundering image by pulling up a chair and sitting in it in a casual and relaxed manner. Unfortunately for her, she misjudged the positioning of the chair and fell hard to the ground. This was not going well... Suddenly, much to her surprise, she was saved by an alert flickering onto Tim's computer screen. "You've got mail..." it said in its mechanical voice. Kat was grateful for the distraction.

OOC: Sigh... fine.
