Greg's dark brows furrowed together as he listened to what Aurelie went through and remembered. So, apparently she was part of the testing group. He heard of Dr. Carl Clauberg and Dr. Josef Mengele. Some of the experiments they did on people were so disgusting that even Greg squirmed at the thought. Women were injected with sterilization experiments into their uteruses. Twins were experimented on to see if they could create siamese twins. People were subject to castration without anesthetics. Men were frozen and given hypothermia to see how well soldiers could work in cold weather. Frozen victims would have water heated to a near blistering temperature forcefully irrigated into the stomach, bladder, and intestines, and nearly all died. People were put into pressure chambers. They even tried to do sex change operations, among many other horrific experiments. Some things, that weren't well known to the mass public were some of the experiments done on mutants. Those were just as horrific, if not worse than non-mutants.

Aurelie was very lucky to have survived. And by the sounds of it, they didn't do anything too terribly horrible to her. Of course, injecting her with stuff was still bad. The experiments they did to humans during the holocaust were just as bad as the experiments people were doing to animals today. Sure, Greg could understand testing some things on animals, or even humans, like new medicines. But to put harmful chemicals, and even computer systems into animals, or even humans... that was just disgusting.

"Did you happen to meet or know anyone named Erik Lehnsherr? He was in the concentration camps as well. He was a Jew." Greg only asked out of curiosity.

Aurelie frowned, thinking it over." No.." She said softly." I didn't know many people there. I only spoke French.. no German." She admitted softly. She looked to Greg." I heard that.. other things happened there.. but I never saw any of it. One of the.. older men there said it was because we were young. We were.. to create a new soldier.. stronger.. more dangerous. Sometimes.. In our training, we attacked mannequins.. a few times..."

She trailed off, lowering her eyes as she frowned." Sometimes... real.. real people.. They were so.. so tired.. weak.. but.. I... I did.. I killed them.. and... and I felt no regret.." Tears formed in her eyes." I was.. a monster. They made me a monster. And stay... in .. in the hospital.. they told me... I killed two.. two people.. and.. and I.. I sobbed.. I... they tried to hold me down.. but.. I just wanted to leave.. to hide.." She murmured softly.

" They moved me to someplace else.. the rooms.. had.. pillows.. on the walls.. and.. I couldn't move.. they'd come in.. and.. i didn't like it. But then they brought me here.. and.. It's better I guess. I haven't hurt.. well.. I did hurt Derek. I guess.. but.. I.. I have improved.. I think.."

Greg frowned as he listened to Aurelie. He wouldn't have been able to attack other people... innocent people. But he supposed that they drugged Aurelie and the others, and even used hypnosis to brainwash them into thinking they were killing machines with no remorse. He wondered how they were able to break Aurelie of that thinking. Obviously, though, some parts of it were still there. That was apparent in her outburst with Derek.

"Yeah, I'd say you've made improvement." Greg said. He went on to explain about Magneto, hoping that the story would make Aurelie feel better about her place. "Erik was a Jewish boy in the Holocaust as well. Only, he did turn out so well. He started a group called the Brotherhood. The Brotherhood was bent on mutant domination. They wanted to rid the world of non-mutants, because in their mind, non-mutants were evil unaccepting and a weaker species. The brotherhood killed many people, even some of our own, because the X-Men know that non-mutants and mutants can live side-by-side, and the X-Men don't stand for the mass slaughter of innocent people. Erik, otherwise known as Magneto, died not to long ago. The Brotherhood doesn't exist anymore. Non-Mutants and Mutants now have better relationships."

He stopped, took a deep breath, then continued. "Bascially, the number one factor that leads people to want to mass-murder a whole population is fear. That's what happened in the Holocaust. And that's what happened between the brotherhood and the anti-mutant activists. If only people could realize that just because one, or a few people in a certian group behave a certian way, that doesn't make everyone from that group that way."

Aurelie listened intently to every word Greg spoke. She nodded softly at his mention of the Brotherhood, and though she had not heard of them she seemed to understand what greg was trying to point out. She gave a gentle nodd before slowly speaking." Yes. But there must be areason for everything to happen a it does. If they had been more accepting.. I would no have these fangs.. and I would not be here now." She reasoned, slowly looking to Greg.

" If humans trusted us so easily, would you even be here?" She asked him softly." I have heard.. that everything happens for a reason. Fate chooses thinsg to happen, to bring certain sorts of people together for a reason." She said simply." If this Brotherhood is no longer a threat, then why have we, as X-men remained here? I fear the world is not as solid and trusting as you say it is Greg. I have found that in life.. nothing can be certain. Those who you think are friends can become the greatest of foes.. and those whom you thought were your enemies can become your greatest allies. Life is like a game of chess. Every movement effects the game, and in the end, one side will be right.. and one will be wrong. Both sides believe they fight for the truth, but in the end, only one will survive."

Greg nodded. He knew the world wasn't solid and trusting, nor did he say it was. That's why there were so many problems. That's why there was so much fear and hatred and murder. If the world was solid and trusting, the holocaust probably wouldn't have happened, nor would the brotherhood have been formed. But, Greg did agree with Aurelie. As a scientist, he knew that everything happened for a reason. With one of the smallest actions you'd get some kind of a reaction. "Yeah... everything does happen for a reason. But I'm also a believer in, 'You make your own destiny'. Nothing is set our and pre-ordained." He said almost scientifically. Wether it was by your choice of actions, or someone else's regarding your life, every action could be made or could be changed by the person acting. Greg didn't believe that some higher being had all the actions set out. Greg refused to believe that you had no choice in how your own life was going to turn out.

Aurelie smiled softly and nodded." Yes, that's an interesting point of view." She noted. Her eyes fell down to her notebooks, as well as the book before her. She glanced over it, then looked back to Greg." Well, thank you. I'm certain that there are lots of other things you would rather be doing right now. I mean, I wouldn't want to be holding you back from anything." She explained.

She then glanced away before adding." Thanks for everything, I can probably manage on my own now. You're really good at explaining things." She said with a light smile." Perhaps I might even see you sometime during class." She said with a slight shrug.
