Reason, meaning or purpose behind the name: No reason
Nickname: Hypnos
Reason for nickname: He preffers to go by his codename rather than his real name. His codename was dirived from his powers. Hypnos was also the greek god of sleep who's palace was a dark cave where the sun never shines, through this cave flowed Lethe, the river of forgetfulness. At the entrance were a number of poppies and other hypnogogic plants.

Legal Status/Citizenship: Citizen of the USA, no criminal record due to his hypnosis powers, however if he didn't have his powers he'd be guilty of vandalisim, tresspassing, hit and run, drug offenses, extortion, grand theft, rape, and murder(though he wasn't caught for all of these crimes, just a few)

Physical Apperance:
Hypnos is 6'3" tall, and weighs 168 pounds in nearly pure muscle. He has dirty blond hair that's kept fairly short, sometimes he'll wear it in a fo-hawk. He also has facial hair, a gotee, which isn't exactly well kept, but still looks quite handsom and rugged. He has piercing blue eyes, which seem to draw people into them(without the use of his powers). His apperance isn't that of a criminal, which is very misleading.
Uniformed Apperance:
He doesn't enjoy the whimsical outfits many other people come up with. Instead, he wears a black and white striped shirt, with a stolen grey blazer over it. His pants are just a worn pair of jeans with holes in the knees. And a pair of boots to boot(no pun intended... well, maybe a little.)
Personality:
Hypnos can be quite the charmer... when he wants to be. He has little sympathy or care for humanity and sees them as existing for no real purpose - thus, he can be very manipulative and bend them to fit HIS purpose. And he does have a purpose, to everything he does. Nine times out of ten it will be strictly for his own self gratification or perhaps merely amusement. As soon as a person or situation is no longer productive or pleasurable in his life, he will rid himself of it or them. He has just a touch of superiority complex (or perhaps more than a touch). Despite all of this, he is capable of love so intense that he places that person's wishes even above his own - the only time that he will do so. Chances are he is attracted to people in which he sees...himself. Though many hate him for his carelessness and evil... he is still sexy, fierce, sinful, and mysterious... ever addicting.
He is faithless and loves it - he believes there is no Judgement Day to fear and so he does what he wants! He has a refined concept of what is sexy and a slightly chaotic sense of ‘fun.’ In fact, he loves chaos and views much of what he does as a game. While typically smirking, amused, and sarcastic, he is capable of severe revenge and a passion and intensity unrivaled by any other. Dominant and strong, he knows what he wants, and how he wants it. If people corss his path, you can bet they'll pay the price. He is easily bored with the vast majority of people, and thinks he's superior to most, though he does know his place. He's always striving to move up the 'ladder' in the Brotherhood, so to speak.
Special Skills/Talents:
Hypnos is a very skilled fighter. He's street-smart, as well as martial trained in combat. When he's not plotting how to move up in the Brotherhood, he's often found lifting weights or training.
He's fairly decent with the computer and technology. He's not the best, but he's better than many.
Hypnos is also skilled in firearms of all kinds.
He's also very good at stealing, picking locks, and other criminal acts, though, on rare occassion he might be caught, in which case his mutation comes in handy.
Powers:
His number one power is that of hynopsis. When his victim is sleeping, or in a complete subconsious state, he can, by using his hands, project images and fake memories into their mind. Of course, these subconsious images are usually tucked away in one's mind, and when they awake, they remain burried in their sub-concious. He can assign 'key words' that will cause one's subconcious to emerge while in the waking state, which would cause the person's personality to completely change to the one he assigned in their suboncious state. If he were to get his hands on someone with amnesia, he could completely re-shape their whole history, life, and behavior, because there are no concious memories to contend with. Through a combination of careful planning and skill, he can also manipulate the minds of telepaths; though he has to take extreme care, as a telepath is much more prone to realizing/breaking his machinations than a non-psi. On a weaker level, if in the battle field fighting those who are actually concious of what it going on around them, he can still hypnotize those around him who have non-psi powers, only if they are making eye-contact. This hypnosis will usually last five to ten minutes after the eye contact is broken, and while it will not change one's memories, it will temporarily make them do what Hypnos wants them to do or believe what he wants them to believe. Hypnos has been proven unable to control certian people with his power, for unknown reasons. His power can be overridden by possessors of stronger mind control abilities.
History:
Tyler was born in New York to a Judge and a Prostitute. He never knew his father, due to the fact that his father was married, and wanted nothing to do with the prostitute or the child. Despite the blackmail his mother tried on the Judge while pregnant, no attempts worked. In fact, the Judge then hired hitmen to 'take care of her'. However, attempts on her life failed due to the fact that she was a mutant with self-healing abilities. Tyler was born in a prostitiute house, and was basically mothered by all the prostitites so that his mother could work the corners. His seven mothers were very protective of him, and raised him in the best way they knew how... though they did do drugs in front of him, and had promiscuous sex around him. Over time, he watched as each of his mothers died(aside from his birth mother), from abuse or desiese or drug abuse. He grew up stealing what he wanted and needed, never getting caught until he was thirteen years old, in which his mutation developed, allowing him to hypnotize the police officer and escape.
From the point that he realized his abilities, he began to increase his crime. His mother, though a prostitute, didn't want him practicing his powers, or commiting crime, which caused countless arguments and fights between the two, including some abusive brawls. Despite this, his mother still loved him, and knew she couldn't change him. This was a never ending battle until he left her at the age of seventeen. From seventeen to twenty-four he escaped criminal record for underage drinking, murder in bar fights, murder of non-mutants who harassed him, posession of drugs, grand theft auto, and the rape of a sixteen year old blond(though in his mind she asked for it). At the age of twenty-four he heard of the Brotherhood, learned their views, and decided to join them.
He now works as a Brotherhood Thug, but feels he's better than most of the mutants there. He's constantly figuring out ways to impress the Leaders, in hopes that he will be moved up in rank. His biggest and most calculated plan is still to be put into effect, after his testing of it.
