Even if the Philippines changed to a parliamentary system, we would not be politically mature enough to handle that type of government. The Executive, Legislative and Judicial powers. Also known as the Republican type of government, countries who follow this type are the USA, Philippines and France. Parliamentary- Composed of the prime minister, the head of the state, and the parliament. The prime minister manages all government affairs in the counrty. The head of the state is nothing but a display or icon of the country. (Ex. King, Queen) While the parliament is composed of elected members from each district in the country. They are the only ones capable of electing a new prime minister or impeaching one. Countries who follow this type are Great Britain, Singapore, and New Zealand. Authoritarian/Fascist- The state is more important than the people. The state's affairs lie in one ruler known as the dictator. Often loathed by democratic countries, people try to avoid this type of government. Monarchy- The ruler of the state is the King or Queen. Absolute powers are entitled to the ruler. They are either placed there by heirship or divine right. Aristocracy- The affairs of the state are ruled by only the rich and powerful. Which means, only the elite are superior according to this old Greek government. Communism- There is no such thing as "individual" in communism. The government owns everything. There are no social classes, no elite, no poor. Everything from the houses, food rations and way of life is the same. -------------------- Tired of serious and lengthy discussions?
