The Action Wrestling League kicks off the Family Reunion Tour, continuing in Magdeburg, Germany!
The Action Wrestling League presents FAMILY REUNION IV!
Sunday April 5th, 2009
Half the shows are done and dusted, and the second half of the tour resumes as AWL superstars will preform their craft for the first time ever in front of a German crowd in the Bördelandhalle arena.
Last week we saw the enigmatic Super Unknown take a Six Man Mayhem match to advance to the finals of the Six Man Mayhem tournament, where the winner will receive the fourth place in UXEC2 to compete for the World Heavyweight Championship. Rurik Krychek has already earned his place in that particular match, and will stand along side two l33t members inside of the steel contraption. Rurik Krychek has been resting for a couple of weeks after Jin Ryusaki's One Footed Concussion Dispenser and Mike Sullivan's bat attack gave him multiple concussions. Krychek was willing to be booked, but is in good enough shape to defeat the unknown? Or is SuperUnknown the only thing that will stay a mystery to the Russian?
To determine the number two spot in Final Countdown, a Beat The Clock series has been ordered for Show IV. It will kick off as Spot 3's SEXXY, and Spot 4's Daye & Night will set the time to beat for Head Trauma and Hired Guns. It's a chance for redemption for Daye & Night, a chance to prove themselves again for SEXXY. Both teams have been at each others throats since SEXXY debuted and stepped on "Sexy" Sammy Night's turf of sexiness. Which team will emerge sex(x?)ier?
The other two Beat The Clock matches feature Head Trauma facing another UXEC competitor, James Unger, and the man on a mission to reclaim his Diamond Championship, Mike Sullivan. Hired Guns meanwhile will have to face the also unlikely duo of another Six Man Mayhem finalist, Ripplemagne, and the l33t-1 himself, the AWL World Heavyweight Champion Dave Richmond. Will the unlikely duos be able to hold together just long enough to cause a little havok to the tag team division's stars? Or are Hired Guns and Head Trauma simply too focused?
Guitar Hero is a popular UMWA jobber, and fought along side Joe Jobber there. Joe Jobber has been fighting the battle against his brother Harry Heel and the rest as best he can, but Guitar Hero at every turn has had a guitar in hand, and Joe has had one over his head. Guitar Hero has hit Joe Jobber three times, and on Show III Jobber finally had enough, challenging Guitar Hero to a match. Whether they were indeed accidents or not, the winner of the match will earn the right to blast the other one with a guitar.
Six Man Mayhem's tournament continues as many stars are still in the running to take that fourth spot in UXEC. The only problem is, last week there were supposed to be three finalists, but due to a time limit ending in one, we only have Super Unknown and Ripplemagne in Show V's Six Man Mayhem tournament finale. As such, William Reign has ordered at the beginning of the night one Six Man Mayhem will randomly be drawn to have two falls, one Six Man Mayhem, one Five Man Mayhem, both winners take a spot in Show V's tournament finale.
There's a second chance Six Man Mayhem consisting only of people from previous UXEC changes that failed to get in, including Sai Eros, and Vinn Vaux. Phil the Camera Guy is booked to fill a space in the one that many believe will be between Greg Cherry and Ash Koopa, the semi-finalist and finalist of the initial tour's tournament respectivley. Also in that one is Billy the Kid, meaning there are two NWW British Champions in that one. Finally in the one opening the night is Enigma, the Black Mage, and because he wouldn't let AWL officials alone despite how much evidence was given that he does not work there; FIW World Tag Team Champion Max Rowley.
William Reign and Jin Ryusaki are simply two men that will never work well together. Both believe they know how business should be done. Jin, a fair and practicle man trying to give the fans what he feels is best. Reign is often corrupt in how he handles things, but dreams big enough to give the fans such things as the Reunion Tour, and UXEC. This week there is a six man tag team match booked, William Reign and the last ever Reign Inc World Tag Team Champions, the Regulators, will go three on three with Jin Ryusaki, Snake, and whomever the poor soul they find is willing to stand up to the boss. Can Snake and Jin's mystery third team mate be of as much help as they hope? Or does Reign's long standing attitude of ruining careers mean it'll be yet another handicap for the heroes?
In the main event we have a title defense. Hunter Weiss' last defense ended up putting Fox Strife on a shelf, we assume. Strife has not been heard from since Weiss drove him into an abyss, nor has the bus or Strife been found. Weiss will defend again, this time against one of the few men to score a victory over Weiss, even if just his partner in a tag team match, Wasabi Dragon XXIV. Can Wasabi withstand another confrontation with Weiss? How will SuperUnknown play into it? Or is Weiss simply too murderous to let anyone live when they stand before him?
